Thus it was best to keep the plan simple, go in, get Emery, and get out.

Aubrey was not aware of these details. In her mind, wouldn't it be better if they had more people with them? It would be easier to convince the council that Emery was innocent. Although Aubrey had heard about the harshness of the Council in its dealings, she still innocently believed that the latter could be reasoned with.

'We just need to provide them with evidence of Emery's brainwashing, is all. Everything will be alright.' Aubrey thought to herself.

Also, that phrase "no survivors" just didn't sit well with her. It was as if he was saying that they should murder any witnesses they came across. And she was definitely vehemently against this. No killing will occur, not on her watch.

Being an introvert, Aubrey would normally just quietly go along with the group but this time, she was not about to let this pass. This was her bottom line.
