Chapter 203: A Woman’s Jealousy

However, despite Aubrey's preoccupations with her life, she still has enough time to worry about her beau.

Although Aubrey is not privy to the happenings of the council, she was cognizant of the fact that Rhyland was under an immense amount of stress. These past weeks, Rhyland barely had time for a meal together, often dashing out at all times of the day to resolve matters of the council. This was out of the ordinary, as the pair always made sure to share their meal times together. This was a time for them to talk about their day and check in on how each other was doing. And yet recently, Aubrey often ate alone with only a note of apology to keep her company. It felt sad and lonesome. The nights were spent in the same manner. Rhyland would often arrive home when Aubrey had already gone to bed. And he would leave before she woke up. Needless to say, her nights were also cold and lonely. But Aubrey did not complain, she was certain Rhyland had it worse than her.
