Chapter 11

I kept reminding myself that Jasper was nothing to me, so why should I be bothered about him? I came back to my senses and directed my attention towards Jessica, who seemed curious about what was going through my mind. I gave her a smile, picked up my phone, and pretended to be texting someone.

"Well, since you said there's nothing wrong with you, why should I bother myself over nothing?" I heard her say finally, and I let out a sigh of relief.

In the evening, while everyone was fast asleep, I lay on my bed struggling to catch some sleep. I couldn't understand why I was still awake at that time. My thoughts kept revolving around Jasper, and I could feel his blue eyes staring into mine. I began to miss him already and longed to see him again, but I had no idea how I would get the chance after he disappeared into the bushes earlier.
