Chapter 5

"Of course I do. He is the one you asked me to find out about." Lucas said smiling. "You mean the one I met in the store room?" Zane asked with wide eyes.

"Yes, and Alden is, I believe the guy who shot the net at me.

"You got shot because of your stupidity. You let your guard down. Also, you still didn't tell me, who drugged you?"

"I wasn't drugged by anyone.."

"What do you mean?"

"Lexin's blood contains aphrodisiac."

"Why wasn't I affected by it then?"

"You didn't drink a large quantity, which is why you weren't affected. I sucked a lot of blood, so I started feeling the effect a few minutes later." "That is bizarre." Zane said.

"What is?" Lucas asked.

"I have never heard of the type of blood which contains aphrodisiac." "True... His blood tastes different from other beasts too." Lucas said.

"He is suspicious." Zane said.

"That is the most you have talked about a single person." Lucas burst into laughter. "Shut up." Zane said and walked out of Lucas's room.

The weekend passed pretty quickly. Again everyone had to return to work.

"Our project's approved? By both CEOS?" May asked reading the document early in the morning."Yes." Alden answered.

"Whoa... Now they are going to launch it? In a few months?" Lexin asked happily. "Yes, we are invited to the celebration party next week. All the higher ups and other important guests will be present." Alden said.

"Woo hoo!" May shouted and disturbed other groups.

"Shh... Till that time, we have nothing to do. I think a few people will come and ask us about the project. They can come anytime." Alden explained.

"Nice! I am going to grab some coffee and snacks. Want me to bring anything for you both?" Lexin asked. "Mm.. Get me anything sweet to eat." May said. "And Alden, you?"

"I don't anything, thanks anyways." Alden said.

"Ok."

Lexin took the elevator. "Oh, man.. Why is it going up?" he mumbled looking at the display with numbers increasing every second. As the lift stopped and the doors opened, Lexin's eyes widened with surprise.

"Good morning." Zane greeted as he got into the lift with his secretary at the back. "G-Good morning.." Lexin greeted him back and moved away from him.

Zane noticed that and said, "I am sorry about my brother.. You are Lexin, right?"

"Yes.." He answered.

"Hmm.. I am Zane. I think I told you the other time. If it's alright, may I ask you some questions later?"

Lexin remained quiet for a few seconds. "Don't worry. I don't have any ulterior motives." He added.

"Um, sure.." Lexin said."Great. I'll meet you in my office at 3 o'clock." He said and got off the elevator. "I wonder what questions he would want to ask me.." Lexin thought and got off his floor a few seconds later.

After Lexin met up with Alden and May-

"Why did you agree? Who knows what he will do?" May asked. "I agree. That is quite a quite stupid thing to do." Alden said removing his glasses.

"He sounded genuine and... Well, I'll be careful. He also said that he doesn't have any ulterior motives.." Lexin spoke. "He is a vampire.. Come on. I never expected you to trust vampires. Especially after what happened.." Alden said.

"You look pretty sure about going. Think again." May suggested.

"I am.. sure."

"Just be extra careful and don't let your guard down. Take this. If anything happens, press this button and the closest agent will come to help you." Alden said while giving Lexin a small device.

"Thanks, I guess." Lexin and passed a smile to both of them.

After Lexin reached their office, he put the device Alden gave him in his pocket and knocked on the door.

Miss Bazzle opened the door and hand gestured to come inside.

"Good afternoon, sir." Lexin said.

"Ah. Lexin. Good afternoon. Please sit down. Miss Bazzle, please leave us alone for some time." Zane said with a soft smile

.After Miss Bazzle left, Lexin started moving towards the chair when suddenly somebody grabbed him from the back.

"Lexin~~ We meet again! Oh, how I missed that soft scent of yours." a familiar voice spoke.Lexin turned his head and saw Lucas. "Lucas, behave yourself." Zane commanded.He let go of Lexin and sat on the sofa that was there in the room.

"I was about to press the button.." Lexin thought and sat on the chair.

"So what was it that you wanted to ask me?" Lexin asked. "Just a few things related to my brother's visit to your house. I believe you noticed he started acting strange a few minutes after he sucked your blood." He said.

"Hmm... I think so. He pushed me on the ground suddenly, is that what you talking about?"

"Yes, that is indeed what I am talking about. This sudden change in my brother's behavior was caused by aphrodisiac."

"Aphrodisiac? He was drugged??" Lexin asked. "Unintentionally.. Your blood contains aphrodisiac, which is a very rare thing." Zane answered.

Lexin remained quiet. "Well, let's get to the point." Lucas said putting his hand on the table in front of Lexin.

"Why is your blood like that? I hope you know that unique blood is quite favored in the black market." Zane asked.

"I-I never knew my blood has aphrodisiac.. Can I ask you for a favor?"

"What is it?" Zane asked.

"Please keep this a secret.." Lexin requested politely.

"What will we get in return?" Lucas asked with a smirk spread across his face. "Umm.. Anything that I could do for you, as long as it doesn't involve my health.."

"Well, how about we make a deal. We'll keep your secret and you in return, can provide us with your blood, of course in a low quantity." Zane said.

"Why would you want my blood? It contains aphrodisiac as you said." "It didn't affect my brother because he drank a small amount. And besides, I have grown fond of your blood." Lucas said touching Lexin's neck.

Lexin pushed his hand away."I am sorry, but I have to agree with Lucas." Zane said looking away.

"So, Lexin~ Are you going to accept it?" Lucas spoke.
