Ivy was sure she heard a bone crack in that poor boy's face. He was down on the ground, in a foetal position with his head tucked into his chest, trembling arms shielding his neck. Hyun Kim mercilessly continued to stomp, his almond eyes wide and icy. No, it was more than that. It was like they were dead, void of all light.
"What's wrong, punk! Get up and fight me!" He shouted, receiving only whimpers and pleas. The brutality in his actions were…apparent, to say the least. Ivy's brows knitted together, failing to understand how all this was warranted. Just from his shoe being stepped on?
She tensed, gritting her teeth at the fact this man was the person they needed for the plan to work. Things just got a whole lot trickier.
After what seemed like hours the hall monitors arrived to break up the one-sided fight. Two of them helped the injured boy down the left hall, likely to the nurses' office. The other two tried to restrain Hyun by grabbing his arms. Get the hell off me!" He hissed. The struggle caused the bun atop his head to come loose, his raven black locks falling in front of his face, reaching just past his chin. Like this, he really did look crazed.
The crowd was soon forced to disperse and Ivy stiffly walked down the hall with Cilian.
"That guy was Hyun Kim. Wasn't he?" He asked, speaking in a hushed tone. Ivy silently nodded, her eyes blankly staring ahead.
"You…He throws house parties all the time- that's how he and Yuri originally became friends. After that, Hyun pitched to Yuri that he meet the rest of his 'crew'. From there you can-"
Cilian scoffed loud enough for a few glances to peer their way.
"No way. That guy's a psychopath, I'm not getting myself killed for this." He huffed. Ivy swallowed thickly. "Look I don't like this anymore than you do but-"
Cilian suddenly froze, his back becoming a wall to the people behind. They grumbled while walking around, and Ivy stopped as well, standing in front of him.
"Cilian?" His skin went from a soft ivory to a sheet of paper, his eyes wide and staring past her. Ivy slowly turned in an attempt to follow his gaze, but it was impossible in the sea of people. She scrunched her nose while looking back- only to find Cilian's gaze glued to the floor, his shoulders rising and falling like the wings of a hummingbird.
"I gotta go," He huffed out, turning on his heels.
"Wait!" But his back already disappeared into the crowd, and Ivy sighed in frustration.
Damn it, did the fight with Hyun spook him that much? Of course it spooked her too, but they couldn't give up at step one. Ivy hissed while dragging her feet in the opposite direction, heading to her first period class. She'd talk to him later and remind him of their lack of options. In the meantime, she'd figure out just how to get close to that psychopath.
