Chapter 27: Singularity

We start off with Lt. Campos and Harrison finishing up with all the thugs in the city. Then Lt. Campos speaks to Harrison, "Can you tell what is happening with the Colonel, priest."

Harrison responds, "From what I can tell it's still about evenly matched. Ace is keeping their distance from the Colonel because of the flames. However, the Colonel is in constant pursuit trying to close the distance. Right now they are basically in a stalemate."

That's when all of a sudden more thugs show up and Harrison and Lt. Campos get prepared to deal with them. The moment they do show up an artificial intelligence Melody appears before Lt. Campos and Harrison. "Hello, Lieutenant Campos and Mr. Harrison."

They are both confused and Lt. Campos asks, "What's going on."

Melody responds, "The defense system has been reactivated so I will be taking care of the thugs here so no need to worry." The moment she says this the teleportation system activates transporting all the thugs outside of the city.

Both Harrison and Lt. Campos are impressed and then Lt. Campos points towards the fight between the Colonel and Ace. "What about the assassin surely you would be able to get rid of that person."

Melody responds, "Unfortunately that won't be possible. Due to the immense flames emanating from the Colonel and the speed at which they are moving. It would be rather difficult to pinpoint their location for teleportation."

Lt. Campos responds, "Damn."

Melody continues, "However, we will be able to protect the city from any further damage from here on out."

Lt. Campos after hearing this decides to head towards the Colonel's direction and yell something out. "COLONEL YOU DON'T HAVE TO HOLD BACK THE CITY IS SAFE!"

Ace notices Lt. Campos and throws something at her but Harrison knocks it away with ease. Then Ace says, "Hey no interruptions missy."

The moment Ace reverts their attention back towards Colonel Johnston his flames become even larger and more fierce. His speed increases as he heads towards Ace and launches a large fireball towards Ace.

Ace notices, "Oh boy." Then Ace dodges the fireball. "Well, that's gonna cause some damage." However, before the fireball hits the city itself a forcefield blocks it from causing any damage. Ace is surprised but realizes what that means.

While Colonel Johnston is in the air because of his flames looking down at Ace, "Now it's time to finish this."

Ace then looks back up at Colonel Johnston, "Well now this could get tricky."

Meanwhile, Harrison is thinking to himself, "I'm not sure what it is but for some reason, I can't sense any hostility from the assassin. In the past, Ace was swift, emotionless, and terrifying. But right now I don't sense any of that from them. The fact that Ace is acting as a bodyguard is strange itself but what is this weird feeling I'm getting? As if there's something I'm missing here..."

We transition back to Christian and Teddy on the ground as the self-destruct system is being deactivated by Mr. J.

Teddy says once more to Christian, "Remember the moment the self-destruct system is deactivated you have to act."

Christian shakes his head in agreement. The moment the self-destruct system activates, Christian powered himself up emphasizing purely his speed and his reaction speed. He's able to get up and charge Mr. J in an instant and tackling him towards the glass windows. He hit the windows cracking them. His aim was to take Mr. J outside of the building so the effects of the special dampening device had no effect. However, he had to do this in one fluent motion.

Unfortunately because of his injuries before the window cracked any further the special dampening system was reactivated causing Christian to lose his power yet again.

Mr. J looks down and notices Christain pushing against the window and with panic on his face says, "WHAT?!? What the hell happened. How am I here?" He then laughs nervously but realizes that their plan failed, " well whatever you did it didn't work. You bastard kids!"

Teddy also realized his plan failed and that he might've just got Christian killed, "Dammit, he couldn't do it. It's probably the injuries, maybe I was asking too much." At that moment Teddy heard a voice in his head.

"TEDDY!!!" It was Christain.

Teddy is surprised as he notices Christain still struggling.

"IT'S NOT OVER YET!"

Teddy responds, "But your..."

"The glass is about to break, it needs one more push. You know what you need to do."

Teddy responds again, "But if I did that..."

"Listen, I'm not planning my death here. I refuse to die until my goal is accomplished. Here and now you have to act. Take the first step and break out of your shell."

Then Teddy thinks to himself as he gets up "I've never been much of a positive guy. My mother has taught me everything I know. But there's a coldness within her, the same coldness I obtained. The world is filled with idiots, idiots like him. But mother, that's what makes him so endearing, so dependable. Because he's, he's..." Then he says out loud, "AN IDIOT!!!"

Teddy runs at Christian holding Mr. J at the glass window. Mr. J with a surprise on his face tries to get Christian off of him and then tries to pull out his gun to shoot Teddy. Then Christian headbutts him. Right after Teddy puts his shoulder down charges them both and then smashes the window with all of them falling out.

A couple of minutes before all this happens we go back to the fight between Ace and Colonel Johnston. All Ace can do is run away, nothing Ace throws at Colonel Johnston is getting through. Colonel Johnston's flames at this point are way too large to deal with.

Ace then finally stops on top of a building. Colonel Johnston noticing Ace stopped, stops as well, and then says something to Ace. "Have you decided to give up assassin?"

Ace responds, "Not exactly but I got to admit you are quite strong."

Colonel Johnston looks disappointed and prepares another large attack. Ace then asks the Colonel a question. "Do you want to know why I was ranked as one of the most dangerous people in the world?"

Colonel Johnston stops his attack and answers, "That should be obvious because you are the deadliest assassin."

Ace then replies, "But does that make sense to you?"

Colonel Johnston at this moment is confused about what Ace is asking.

Ace continues on by saying, "A good assassin wouldn't have notoriety, if they are good at their job there should be no indication of you being an assassin. Being an assassin is all about moving in the shadows, in secrete, unknown to the world. However, I was given the title of the deadliest assassin. Does that make sense?"

Colonel Johnston listens to Ace's words and realizes that Ace has a point. If Ace was truly the greatest and deadliest assassin how would the world know this unless Ace told someone? However, why would Ace want more people to know about his existence? A truly great assassin should be a complete mystery to the world.

Colonel Johnston then responds, "You have a point. Does that mean you aren't the world's deadliest assassin?"

Ace chuckles, "Astute observation Colonel that could be one of the possibilities. Maybe I'm not the best or deadliest. However, that's wrong. I am in fact the best there is in this world and that's no question. So the question is why am I one of the ten most wanted people, ten most dangerous people in this world?"

Colonel Johnston then starts looking nervous.

Ace then jumps to the highest point in the city and stands there. "Let me show you why." Then Ace puts their hands together and says one word, "Singularity."

All of a sudden the city starts shaking and Colonel Johnston screams at Ace, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!"

Ace responds, "This is your fault Colonel, you are simply too strong and pushed me against a corner."
