Luffy and Hancock returned to the mansion they were staying at.
"That's everything that happened so far."
They reported to Elder Nyon and the girls.
"Not only the mayor and sheriff but even innocent children..."
Shivers ran down Elder Nyon's spine.
"First of all, I'm glad you're both okay. Second, I think whoever is behind everything clearly intends to cause as much mayhem as possible. If they're destroying everything without care, then their end goal might be the destruction of the island."
Hancock nodded.
"I believe that's the end goal as well."
"It must be the Marines! This is their way of doing things!"
Luffy shouted.
"I agree. However, something is bothering me."
"What is it, Hancock?"
"Both Tate and Felix were seasoned fighters who even I would have trouble taking out. Yet, both of them were seemingly taken out easily. The only people I believe are capable of such feats are the Admirals and Admiral Candidates."
"Are you saying those Magma, Ice, and Light guys are here?!"
Hancock shook her head.
"Assassination isn't the Admirals forte. If they were going to destroy an island, they would be flashier."
Luffy remembered his first time meeting Aokiji and Kizaru.
"...That sounds about right."
"Does the World Government have agents on that level? Maybe in Cipher Pol?"
"I heard terrible things about CP0. Could it be them?"
Elder Nyon asked.
"Whoever it is, when I find them I'm going to kick their ass!"
"Hah~. An angry Luffy is so hot~!"
"It's not the time or the place woman!"
"There's always time to admire my beloved."
Hancock shooed Elder Nyon.
"However, I'm also a bit angry with everything going on."
She clenched her fists as she remembered Caria crying and Luffy's rage at the orphanage.
"Whoever they are, I'm going to put them in the dirt for everything they've done!"
At the site where the orphanage once stood. The fire was extinguished with the help of the civilians. The bodies of the orphans and orphanage staff were carried away while Luka watched on. The Supreme Five were still at the orphanage. Jessie was still consoling Luka while Frantz was on his Snail Transponder.
"Come on, come on!"
The transponder continued to ring before cutting off. Every time it happened, he would start over again.
"Dammit!"
He lifted the transponder to throw it to the floor. He stopped himself and took a deep breath.
"I still can't get in touch with the Revolutionary Army."
He sighed.
"Whoever is responsible for everything is obviously trying to break us down."
He glanced at his comrades.
"And it's working."
Loud noises reached his ears. It was a mixture of people shouting until it became incomprehensible.
"What the..."
He made his way over to the crowd.
"What's going on?"
People in the crowd turned to him.
"Frantz, is it true?!"
The nearest person grabbed onto him.
"What are you talking about?"
"There's a rumour that the sheriff is dead!"
Frantz's eyes peeled open.
"That's impossible."
He mumbled absentmindedly.
"See? I told you guys it was a lie!"
The person turned around and shouted.
"He just hasn't heard about it yet!"
"That's right! It's spread around town!"
"An officer told me out of his own mouth!"
The crowd began arguing with each other.
(Felix is dead? That's impossible.)
Frantz ignored them and started to gather his thoughts.
(Felix is the strongest guy on the island. Someone rumored to be able to fight Admirals...Who could kill him?!)
"Frantz, what's going on?"
Astrid and Jessie came over after seeing the commotion.
"Nothing. Let's go back to-"
"The sheriff is dead! I repeat, the sheriff is dead!"
An officer ran past the crowd shouting. He stopped before the Supreme Five and shouted.
"The sheriff was found dead in his cell with a gun wound to the head! Somebody killed the sheriff!"
Frantz grabbed him by his collar.
"What the hell are you doing carelessly spreading this news? Don't you realize how much chaos you're causing?!"
He lifted the officer off the ground and dangled him in the air.
"I-I'm just following orders!"
"Whose orders? The Deputy Sheriff would never be so careless!"
"I don't know!"
"What?"
"I don't know whose orders! I just know I have to let everybody know!"
Frantz let him go and he fell to his butt.
"What the hell is going on..."
Veins started bulging in Frantz's head.
(Somebody is plowing seeds of chaos into the people!)
"Felix is dead?"
Jessie mumbled. Behind him, the rest of the Supreme Five had horrified expressions.
"Please, tell me it isn't true. We can't take any more pain..."
Caria was on the verge of tears once again.
"I'm gonna check!"
Jessie blasted off the ground and took his bird form.
"Jessie, wait!"
Jessie flew off without listening to Frantz.
"Fuck!"
Frantz cursed and ran towards the town. Caria, Luka, Connor, and Astrid followed behind him. As they raced towards the town voices of the civilians reached their ears.
"They say he was killed under the nose of all the officers."
"Some people think he was killed in his sleep."
"First, Tate now Felix...God what is going on?"
Caria and Astrid covered their ears as they ran. Luka and Frantz ran in silence. After a few minutes, they arrived at the station.
"Let us see the sheriff!"
"Is he really dead!?"
"What have you people been doing to let him die?!"
"Hurry up and catch the killer!"
There was a mob of people shouting at the officers who blocked the door.
"Shit, it's about to become a riot."
Frantz made his way towards the crowd.
"Everyone, please calm-"
A shockwave came out of the station. It blew away the crowd and hit Frantz.
"Conqueror's Haki?!"
People started dropping like flies.
"This is Jessie!"
He looked towards the station as Haki spread through the town. He could feel the intense emotions emitting from within the building.
"....So you really are dead, Felix."
He ground his teeth as tears flowed out of his eyes. He ran past the officers and into the station. Inside he saw several officers on their knees. Jessie stood in the middle of the station holding Felix's body. His eyes were dull and lifeless as if he had lost his will to continue.
(This haki says otherwise!)
Frantz forced his way through the waves of Haki and stood before Jessie.
(I know you're not one to let despair devour you!)
He reached out to put his hand on Jessie's head.
"Control your Haki man."
He pressed his forehead against Jessie's.
"Instead of Haki, just let your tears flow. No one will blame you."
Jessie's haki stopped.
"…I told Tate and Felix they will see me take down the Pirate King."
"I know."
"I told them I will become stronger than both of them."
"You will."
"It's so frustrating."
"It is."
Jessie's body trembled. Tears flowed from his eyes.
"I'm stupid, so please tell me, Frantz. Why did my fathers have to die?"
Frantz bit his lip until it started bleeding.
"I don't know, but we're gonna make who did this pay with their life. I swear."
Jessie nodded. The others came into the station and froze when they saw Felix's body.
"Dammit..."
They too broke down. Jessie dropped to his knees holding Felix. Frantz looked around. He was the only one who was still standing. His eyes were bloodshot and his entire body was trembling.
"I will destroy whoever did this."
"Is that so?"
Outside the station, a child was mixed into the crowd.
"You'll destroy me?"
They laughed.
"You don't know how ironic what you said is."
They clasped their hands.
"Alright, I've had enough of this cryfest.'
They disappeared from where they were.
"Attention, everyone!"
One of the officers who was guarding the station entrance drew the crowd's attention. He spoke with distress on his face.
"We just found out that the Mayor, the Supreme Five, and the sheriff were conspiring to revolt against the World Government!"
"?!"
Frantz turned towards the officer with shock.
"The pirates' attack, the mayor and sheriff's deaths, the bombing of the orphanage, everything is because they made an enemy of the World Government!"
"It's true! We have proof right here!"
Someone in the crowd shouted and lifted something in the air.
"A Tone Dial?"
Frantz recognized what it was. They pressed the side of the shell.
(Now that you're on board, we will give you the signal to attack Marine HQ when it's time."
Frantz's voice came from the shell.
(Alright, I'll talk to the sheriff and the Supreme Five and get them on board. But still, I never thought you were a Revolutionary.)
Tate's voice could be heard.
(I am a spy after all. It just means I'm doing my job properly. I'll reveal my identity to the others when I feel they will accept it.)
The voices were cut off and everyone looked towards Frantz. His face was pale but his eyes were bloodshot with rage.
(Who recorded that?! Only Tate and I were in the room with a few servants. But those servants died last night!)
His head and neck were full of bulging veins as he ground his teeth.
"Seriously, what the hell is going on?!"
