New Marineford, New World. Akainu was walking down the halls with his usual frown. All who saw him made way for him before saluting.
"Fleet Admiral."
A man in a suit and hat approached him with a salute.
"What is it?"
Akainu's coarse and stern voice echoed in the halls.
"The Five Elders want to talk with you."
"What do they want now? I'm already as busy as it is."
The Holy Land Mariejois, Pangaea Castle. The Five Elders were gathered in their office with a Snail Transponder on a table in the middle.
"Hello."
Akainu's voice came from the transponder.
"We heard about the rumors of the Strawhats."
One of the elders said.
"Yeah, apparently people who are saying they're the Strawhats are gathering pirates to raid the New World together."
"The Strawhats are an important matter. Before they were saved by Kuma, they had caused major incident after incident. We need to destroy them once and for all before they grow into a bigger nuisance."
"I'm fully aware. If it is them then they will be eliminated. If they're fakes then they will be eliminated. That goes for all the pirates who are foolishly flocking towards them."
Akainu's voice was filled with conviction.
"Then, you should grateful for this news."
Another of the Elders spoke up.
"Five of the Supernovas, who were reportedly on their way to join the Strawhats, have been eliminated."
"What? By who?"
"Our friends on Bounty Island."
"Bounty Island…I was supposed to meet their leader soon. He must be quite the man if he could take out 5 super-rookies without the marines knowing."
"While Tate Tobin did play a part of killing them, he wasn't the one who lured them in the trap."
"Huh? Then who?"
"El Verdugo."
Akainu paused for a bit before speaking.
"He exists? I thought he was a myth."
"Oh, he exists alright."
"This is a good time. You are going to need to meet him in the future as well. So it's better for you to know."
Another Elder Spoke up.
"Cipher Pol has 10 divisions from 0-9, with 0 being the leading division. That's what you know right?"
"That's right."
"There's another division. Although, it's only a division in name because it consists of only one person. That division is Cipher Pol Minus (CP-).
"….And its sole member is El Verdugo? Why would there be a division for a single person?"
"Because he's better alone or rather, he alone is enough to balance out the natural order of the world."
Akainu frowned inside his office.
"He's that powerful?"
"That's a good question."
"What?"
"It's more difficult to give a straight answer than you think."
Another Elder spoke.
"Of course, he's powerful. So much he could've been an admiral candidate. However, what makes him terrifying is his dedication and willpower."
"So, no devil fruit?"
"No, he does have a devil fruit."
(Why do these old men always talk in a roundabout way?)
Akainu thought with an annoyed expression.
"When it comes to usefulness and ability you can say it's incredibly powerful, however, it's quite self-destructive."
"What fruit is it?"
The Elders paused for a bit before answering in unison.
"The Clone-Clone Fruit."
Back at Bounty Island.
Luffy and Jessie were facing two people who looked like Felix.
"Felix...?"
Jessie was frozen upon realizing he was looking down on someone he thought was dead.
"No...Wait...I held your...What the..."
He was unable to form sentences from the shock he was experiencing.
*Bam*
A gunshot pierced his stomach.
"Guh?!"
He stumbled back holding his stomach. The Felix he was standing over sprung to his feet and pointed his gun at him.
"Fe...lix."
*Bam!*
Elsewhere, Luffy was facing Felix underground.
"Aren't you dead? Wait, did I die?!"
Luffy started panicking.
"No, you're still alive."
The being that looked like Felix was sitting on a chair with his legs crossed. He showed no tension in this situation.
"Oh, I didn't die? Whew~!"
Luffy started to relax before looking at the one in front of him again.
"Wait, so why are you in front of me?"
The being pointed behind Luffy.
"I'm there as well."
"Huh?"
Luffy turned around and was kicked in the face. His body flew at the seated entity. He swung his hand and Luffy was flung out from the underground space.
"Ugh?!"
He landed on the ground and bounced off the earth. He stood up. Jessie was close by standing over a body. It looked like Felix as well, but it had two bullet holes in its head.
"I'm the person with the fastest quick draw on this island. You should know this."
He emptied his revolver and reloaded in a split second.
"As I thought, you look like Felix but you aren't."
"Hey, Bird Guy. I saw the sheriff underground."
"What?"
Jessie saw someone appear behind Luffy. Jessie fired his guns. The bullets past Luffy and hit the person behind him. Luffy spun around with his fist coated in Haki. He was punched before he could attack. He was sent flying towards Jessie. Jessie moved to catch him. He blinked and someone appeared between the two of them pointing guns at both of them.
"Wha-?!"
Jessie was shot in the head and Luffy in the back. The bullets bounced off them. Luffy spun his torso completely around. Jessie aimed his guns.
"Red Hawk!"
Luffy's burning fist hit their chest at the same time Jessie's shots penetrated Felix's head. The body flew in the air and hit the ground void of life.
"Hah~ Hah~."
Jessie and Luffy were breathing heavily.
"These guys are fast, and I can't sense them unlike earlier."
Luffy turned his head to the hole he fell in.
"I can sense the one down there though."
"Why are there so many Felixes? Did he have a lot of brothers or something?"
Jessie wiped the sweat out of his eyes.
"?!"
Once he opened his eyes, a little girl was in front of him.
"Hello, Jessie."
Jessie's world started spinning. He slammed on the ground and found himself looking up a gun barrel.
"It was two headshots from you earlier, right?"
The child leaped out of the way of Luffy's leg.
"You, I can sense!"
Luffy flew at the child with his arms stretching behind him.
"Eagle Bazooka!"
His palms flew at the child. Someone popped up between them and took the attack.
"Stop messing around, El Nino."
The person who was cloaked in black grabbed Luffy's arms. Luffy retracted his arms and flew at them.
"Gum Gum Rocket!"
The person swung his leg and it clashed with Luffy's head. Shockwaves spread and Luffy was forced back. However, he stretched his legs and wrapped them around the person. He leaned backward while swinging his body. The person was picked off the ground and slammed head-first into the earth.
"Hahaha! He got you, La Parca!"
El Nino burst out laughing. A light flashed and its head fell off its shoulder.
"You're the bastards who kidnapped Luka."
Jessie hovered over the body in his bird form.
"I'm going to kill every one of you."
"You know, people would normally hesitate when it comes to hurting children."
A young boy appeared not too far away. It wore a huge smile.
"You people don't even stop to think about it."
"What the? Didn't I just kill you?"
"Yeah."
El Nino rubbed its neck.
"It hurt quite a bit. Whoever said decapitation is a mercy-killing never actually had their head cut off. It hurts so much."
Luffy got to his feet and looked at La Parca, whose head was embedded in the earth.
"........"
La Parca pulled its head out of the ground. It was immediately attacked by a burning fist. The fist slammed into its face and sent it flying. A shadow cast over it.
"Gigant Axe!"
Luffy's giant heel fell on top of La Parca. The ground gave way and it fell underground. Luffy jumped underground. There he saw Felix sitting where he was before in the same pose.
"Welcome again, Monkey D Luffy."
La Parca appeared behind him. Luffy pointed at him.
"What the hell is going on here, Sheriff?! Why are there so many of you and why are you with these guys?!"
"......."
Felix remained silent while La Parca moved in front of him.
"Wait."
Felix spoke up.
"Monkey D Luffy, Son of Dragon and Grandson of Garp, I have a question for you."
"Question? I asked first!"
"Yes, but mine will decide your fate."
Felix pointed at Luffy.
"What is more important to you, Freedom or stability of the world?"
"Freedom!"
Luffy answered without hesitation. Felix stood up and La Parca stepped back.
"In this sense, you're just like your father and me when we were younger."
"What does my dad have to do with anything?"
"You're right. He has nothing to do with this."
Felix vanished and popped up in front of Luffy. Luffy swung his fist, but he was lifted off the ground by an uppercut before his attack could reach. Felix slammed his palm over his chest.
"Everything that's about to happen is your own doing."
*BAM*
An invisible force flowed through his body and burst out of his back. Luffy's eyes rolled to the back of his head. Felix grabbed his collar and threw out of the underground. Luffy landed on the ground.
"Hah~!"
He loudly gasped for air before coughing.
"Luffy~!"
He looked up and saw Hancock and the others running towards them.
"Oh, the whole crew is here."
El Nino laughed while evading Jessie's relentless attacks. Luffy got up and opened his mouth to speak. However, the ground started shaking. Cracks ran through the earth and silver liquid oozed out. Luffy and Jessie started running as the earth gave way.
"This is Luka!"
Jessie's eyes lit up when he saw the liquid. Below, Felix once again took a seat in his same pose.
"The mind is truly a mysterious thing. It's capable of almost anything, yet it breaks under a little traumatic stress. In order to handle this stress, it does fascinating things like repressing memories and creating split personalities."
He smiled.
"Felix Crouch, the beloved sheriff was a victim of this."
Mercury covered the area before forming into Luka.
"Luka, you're alright?!"
Jessie and his friends' eyes sparkled when they saw him.
"......"
Luka silently lifted his hand and formed a glaive with a serpent design.
"You were also a victim of this, Luka Murdoch."
Mercury wrapped around him and formed silver armor and a snake-themed helmet.
"Return to your roots."
