The Main Event

New Marineford, New World. 

"The Clone Clone Fruit?" 

Akainu was in his office looking at the Snail Transponder before him with confusion. 

"There was a Devil Fruit like that?" 

"It's expected you haven't heard of it since it's a fruit that's naturally avoided and forgotten over time." 

The Elders' voices came from the transponder. 

"You mean, guys didn't ban or erase it from history, people just didn't eat it? Isn't it strong?" 

The Elders paused for a bit before answering. 

"Yes, it's powerful. Incredibly so. Especially when awakened." 

"Then I would eat it. Especially if it gave me the strength to accomplish my dreams. I'm sure I can't be the only one who would." 

"Indeed, you're not the only one who thinks that way. But they all come to learn a valuable lesson." 

Akainu frowned. 

"Which is?" 

"Some fruits are just cursed." 

On Bounty Island, the people were in a frenzy fighting and trying to kill each other. Despite fighting their friends and family, they showed no mercy and gave it their all. 

"W-Wait, why are we fightin—Ugh?!" 

"Everybody, calm down! We need to—Argh?!" 

Anyone who tried to stop the fighting was taken out. This only intensified the violence. 

"Please, I don't want to do this!" 

There were some who reluctantly fought back in order the survive. Running would get you chased. Crying for peace would get you killed. Standing still would leave you open to attacks. The people didn't have a choice, it was fight or die that's it. 

"Why did you attack me?! Die! Die! Die!" 

A man cried as he saddled his friend and slammed his fists repeatedly in his face. The tears in his eyes blocking his vision were like a blessing, as they temporarily covered up the sins he was committing. 

"Huh?" 

Light pierced through his tears causing him to clear them from his eyes. 

"What the?" 

Below him, his friend was emitting a gold light. His appearance changed before the man's eyes. 

"S-Sheriff?" 

His friend had turned into the rumored late sheriff, Felix Crouch. 

"Heh." 

Felix smiled under him. 

*BAM* 

Felix exploded under the man. The explosion swallowed him and completely destroyed him. Similar scenes happened across the island. People randomly turned into Felix before exploding and killing those around them. 

"Wha?!" 

Luffy and the others heard the explosions happening across the island. They turned their heads to see flames blazing to the heavens. They could sense lives being snuffed out by the hundreds. 

"What the hell is going on?" 

Jessie looked at the burning town in horror. 

"The Main Event." 

He turned his head and saw Felix dragging a bleeding Frantz. 

"Felix?!" 

Caria and Astrid's eyes peeled open when they saw him. 

"Huh? El Verdugo?" 

El Niño and La Parca vanished from in front of Luffy and Hancock and appeared by his side. 

"What's wrong? We didn't expect you to make a move already." 

El Niño asked. 

"It's nothing much." 

Felix looked past Jessie and others and at Luka. 

"I was merely bored." 

"ROOOOHHHH!!!" 

The monster roared and flew at him. 

"Wait, Luka!" 

Jessie called out to it but he was ignored. The monster thrust itself at Felix. 

"What's this?" 

He watched as the monster leaped into the air. El Niño and La Parca vanished while "Felix" threw Frantz's body aside. The monster fell on top of him and crashed him with its weight. The earth shook vigorously. 

"?!" 

The monster's body was split down the middle. The halves fell on opposite sides with Felix appearing unarmed. 

"Are you perhaps angry at me?" 

The monster's halves melted and started retreating. 

"Why are you angry, Luka? Is it about what I'm doing to the island?" 

The mercury gathered together and started taking form. 

"Is this about the orphanage?" 

The mercury formed into a giant bearing an axe. Felix shook his head unbothered by the giant. 

"This isn't about any of that." 

He looked at Luka and spoke without emotion. 

"You're angry I brought the sins you've hidden away back to light." 

The giant roared and swung down his axe. Felix lifted one hand overhead and caught the axe. The earth underneath him cracked open. 

"Looks like I hit the nail on the head." 

He strengthened his grip and the axe blade shattered. 

"The other things you can blame me for, but your sins are yours and yours alone." 

The giant swung its foot to kick him. Felix leaped off the ground and flew at the giant. 

"By the time I met you, your sins were already committed." 

He punched the giant in the face and it tumbled over. 

"I didn't manipulate you to do anything." 

The giant fell on the rubble of the orphanage. Felix flew down and stomped in its chest. 

"Everything was done by your own will. Even attacking your family just now so they would kill you…." 

He walked up to the giant's chest and stood on its face. 

"You even killed townspeople to convince them." 

His emotionless face was reflected in the monster's eyes. 

"It's all you, Luka." 

Felix lifted his arm and blocked a kick from Jessie. 

"Get away from Luka!" 

Astrid and Caria came at him from his flanks. Felix ignored Astrid and kicked Caria. Astrid punch slammed into his back. Caria was forced back but Felix remained firm after taking Astrid's attack. 

"Red Hawk!" 

Luffy popped up above and fired a burning fist. Felix was hit by the punch but remained unmoving. 

"Perfume Femur!" 

He was kicked in the back by Hancock but still stood firm. A similar thought ran through everyone's mind. 

(It felt like I hit a wall!) 

"I see you all came here to defend Luka. However, its useless." 

Their footing gave away as the giant melted away. Felix separated from them in an instant. He pointed behind them, at Luka who lay on the ground. 

"It's useless because Luka's mind is already broken." 

Jessie ran over to Luka. He was lying on the ground with a blank stare. Jessie immediately placed his ear on his chest. 

"He's not dead, don't worry. His mind just couldn't handle the stress and shutdown." 

Felix spoke with a monotone. 

"How unfortunate. I wanted to raise him as my successor but if his mind crumbled this easily….Then again, I'm not one to talk. I guess we're really alike." 

"You and Luka are nothing like!" 

Caria shouted. 

"Are you sure, Caria Aponi? Let's review the things I've done." 

Felix started listing off his fingers. 

"Murder, mass destruction, killing of innocents, genocide…Hm? I'm pretty sure Luka has done all of this." 

Caria clenched her fists tightly. 

"You…Just what are you? How can you commit these atrocities against people you've spent so many years with?" 

"Hm? Ah, I think you're mistaken about something." 

Felix placed his hand over his heart. 

"I'm not Felix Crouch." 

"What? Of course you are!" 

Astrid shouted. 

"Technically, I am but I'm not at the same time." 

Felix continued under the confused gazes. 

"The Felix Crouch you people know; your beloved Sheriff is just a part of me. A clone with its own life and beliefs." 

"A Devil Fruit ability." 

"You're correct, Boa Hancock." 

Hancock frowned hearing him call her name. El Niño and La Parca appeared by his side. 

"These two are also other sides of me, who just like Felix Crouch had their roles." 

"Then Felix never existed?" 

Caria and the others wore horrified expressions. 

"No, he existed. Like I said, he had a life of his own. He was his own person. Just like all of the others." 

Those words sent static through Hancock's body. A terrifying thought came to her. 

"When you say others…" 

He smiled. 

"It's just as you thought." 

He spread his arms. 

"Everybody who shares my presence is a part of me." 

It was like lightning fell on everyone there. The Supreme Five were especially affected by his words. 

"Then, everybody we knew…" 

"All those people we grew up with…" 

"Everybody was the same person…." 

He nodded. 

"Half the population of Bounty Island are just clones." 

"Impossible…How can there be such a power?" 

Hancock couldn't believe what she was hearing. Caria said Bounty Island had a population of 30,000 people and half were clones which means… 

"How can there be 15,000 clones?!" 

"That's how powerful my fruit, the Clone-Clone fruit is." 

He smirked. 

"But don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy. In fact, I think I'm the only person in history to achieve this. After all, every clone has a personality of its own and is its own entity. It gets even more complicated when my fruit is awakened and I can start cloning others. I need to become that person in mind and spirit. Once that happens I can replace them." 

"Wait, are you saying…" 

He nodded. 

"We killed the originals and replaced them with clones." 

"?!" 

The words he spoke casually struck terror in their hearts. 

"Then everybody whose presence suddenly assimilated with the others was actually killed and replaced?!" 

He nodded. Jessie's rage started blowing over. 

"Oh, for simplicity, you can call me Felix." 

Felix casually laughed. 

"Stop laughing!" 

Luffy shouted. All the veins in his body were pulsating, and the others were the same. Felix's smile fell. 

"Well, it makes sense you would be furious. What we do is unforgivable. We must seem like monsters in your eyes." 

Teeth gritted while he spoke. Felix suddenly looked like remembered something. 

"By the way, the clones don't know they're clones, so the bonds they made were genuine. The exception is us three and Felix. However, Felix Crouch was the only one who acted in the light. So you and I never actually met before, which is why I feel nothing towards you people. But, Felix Crouch loved you guys and tried to rebel. Which is why we had to…" 

He ran his thumb across his throat. 

"He had to be reset." 

"DAMN YOU!" 

Everyone rushed at him with overflowing bloodlust. Felix faced their rage and bloodlust with a smile. 

"But I didn't get to explain what happens when a clone dies." 

An explosion erupted as everyone attacked together. 

"?!" 

Their eyes peeled open as all of their attacks were blocked by El Niño, La Parca, and Felix. 

"I might not be the Felix you know, but don't be mistaken." 

Explosions rang out as they all flew back with fist marks in their bodies. 

"I am still by far the strongest thing on this island." 

They hit the earth gasping for air as his voice entered their ears. 

"If it breathes, it's because I allow it."
