WOW! Sage's mouth was almost rolling down on the floor if it was not for Milly closing it and reminding her not embarrass herself.
"Surely Sage, never been to a mall?" Ben again yelled loudly. What's up with this attitude brat?
"Just shut up Ben, you didn't have to open that bucket you call a mouth." Ben stood and held his mouth and every one walked past him, why is he behaving so bitchy.
Everyone got busy buying what's best for them and there in the corner was Sage confused on what to choose. Summer was over and she was about to join a new high school for her senior year and she didn't want to embarrass herself the first day because on how things were this school was going to be massive big and full of rich kids.
"Still confused?" sage looked behind her to see Nathan sitting on the grey couch folding his hands on his chest. He patted his hand on the spot besides him and the frustrated Sage sat there scratching her hair. "Having trouble fitting in" he asked the question that was always troubling her, yes she always felt the old one out thanks to Ben. She looked at his eyes and did what she was best at lying.
"No actually am good. I love it here and just having trouble choosing the best…"She trailed because of the look he gave her.
"You don't have to lie; your face shows it all." He stood and squatted down. Did he have to do that really? She rolled her eyes mentally.
"Look, you've have me and Emily for rescue," Nathan sat back. Thanks that was so embarrassing; he looked like he was talking to a five year old. Sage smiled at Emily who walked in,
"I just heard my name over hear, what's up?" she sat next to Nathan ruffling his hair getting a growl from him and she just laughed it off. The love that this duo shared was great because they had each other.
Being Luke's children did not save them from the witch Samantha. She treated the other three with so much and made it evident to this two that they were unwanted.
Emily helped Sage choose some outfits and she loves them. They all met up and went for ice cream and then went home exhausted.
Slumping on her bed and looked at the clear white ceiling, Will she make it? This was the time that she wanted her Dad so much. Knock on the door brought her back to the reality.
She walked and opens the door and found Luke holding a tray full of cookies and warm milk. This reminded her of how her dad would sense her troubled heart.
She moved a side and Luke walked in and placed the tray on the study table near her bed,
"I brought that…hoping it would help you calm down a little." He looked so nervous and that make Sage chuckle.
"You didn't have to, but thanks anyway." They both smiled and sat on her bed.
"I don't know how your dad did it..." This made sage to wrinkle her face making him more nervous, "Not that I want to replace him, but I wanted to tell you that you'll be great tomorrow." Shit, it was that first she thought that she had at least a remaining to sulk in her room.
Luke got ready to leave, "Luke," He looked back saw her wide smile. "Thanks so much I couldn't ask for more." She walked and hugged him and he hugged her back. They all needed that.
"That was what my dad would do; bring me warm milk and home backed cookies." She took a bite and narrowed her eyes, "Wow this is so great, and you should teach me how to bake this!" She almost yelled in excitement, and that made him so happy.
"Maybe some other time, Now go to sleep you have school tomorrow," he tucked her to sleep and left the room.
For the first time in months she felt loved, thanks to mom for having a great family. She took her phone and texted her mom for the first time and drifted to her sweet slumber.
