Maeve walked out of the shower looking fresh and more beautiful. A playful music played on the background making the dazzling morning even more colorful.
Her grey cat jumped around and sat on her lap,
"Today is the best day of my life Mimi, got the clue why?" she rubbed Mimi's ears making the cat purr in satisfaction. "Fred is coming over today," she placed the cat on her bed and walked in her closet to find the perfect outfit she had to look cute today.
After so much consideration she came up with the best outfit, she wore a white cute tennis skirt, a grey knitted top, white socks and snickers.
Her black hair was well curled and she applied simple make up, she went for a cute look, your too beautiful Sage has nothing on you she scoffed on the inside.
These girls were busy hating on her while she busy snoring.
In the dining table, Sofia served milk in Maeve's plate and she happily enjoyed her breakfast,
"What's up with the happy mood princess," her dad asked sipping his coffee. Collins looked at her outfit and smiled.
"How can you forget dad, today is the day that Mr and Mrs Lang are joining us to play golf over the land in town c" Henry nodded aging him to continue.
"And Fred Lang is joining to remember dad," she impatiently interrupted her slow brother.
"There's nothing special about that boy, why are all girls smitten over him, he's just some arrogant jerk." Colton sat next to Sofia.
"Hmph, you know nothing," Maeve threw him her bread. Sofia could only watch her family interaction she had no say in her own family.
No one not even Maeve the youngest one respected her, she had to pay the consequences of loving money over family.
She stood and walked out and sat at her new flower garden. Since she was not allowed to go anywhere she found herself a hobby of gardening. Her late mother had a large garden of flowers that she made a living out for and later died of cancer.
And that's when everything went south and she learned to fend for herself, knowing money at her age was the biggest mistake she made.
She had a younger sister who was taken by the children rights then was adapted to some wealthy family. They never kept in touch because she had forgotten about her poor young sister.
The sun touched her already wrinkled face showing the dark circles under her big beautiful eyes. She no longer took care of her skin, because she had no friends to brag to. Someone had exposed some of inside information about her youthful days and that affected everything.
The three were busy making jokes and almost forgot that Sofia had left,
"Where's mom?" Maeve looked around. "I know where she is, I'll take this milk to her," She stood up ready to live only to be held down by her dad,
"Let her be, she's being petty and being pathetic again." Henry took the drink and walk outside to where Sofia was.
Without even talking to her he threw the glass of milk to her hitting her lips and the hot milk burned one side profile of her face. She jumped trying to save her face but it was already late,
"That scar will remind how stupid you look trying to take pity from the kids," He spat at her and walked up stairs. Colton and Maeve rushed to her carrying ointment that they attended to her.
Yes she might have been the worse mother in the world but she was still their mother. She could only bite her lip and swallow the pain she felt.
"It's ok, you should join your dad in the car or you'll be late," she still tried to smile. The twins had no choice but join their dad and brother in the car and left.
Sofia fell on the ground and cried silently, the salty tears burned her new scar and she felt like evaporating. She could only endure and pay for her sins.
