Chapter 61

Elaina's POV

Max eventually returned to his own home, and he drew in a deep breath as soon as he laid eyes on me. However, I just left the room, leaving him by himself. He was probably surprised by my behavior, but the truth was that I was not in the mood to deal with him at the moment. I had better things to worry about.

About two days ago, I found out that Catelyn's family had raised an alarm about her disappearance. It had been over a month since I killed her and threw her into a river. My primary concern was that her body would be found and traced back to me, rather than what my husband had been up to.

Why did they decide to look for Catelyn now? People already knew that she was pregnant because her family wouldn't stop talking about it. The only thing they didn't know was who had been responsible for it.
