Chapter 25: Chaos

“Ya need ta go!” Mildid yelled as she hurried to her front door.

With Cecilia holding his arm, Detrick looked back up into the sky. They maybe had a few minutes until the dragons reached them.

“What are you going to do?” Detrick asked Mildid.

She rushed into her home, and came back out a moment later holding the glowing flower blossom. Detrick stared at the flower curiously.

Shuffling hurriedly to the side of her home, Mildid grumbled something about “convictions” and “unlikely coincidences,” that neither Detrick or Cecilia caught.

Lifting her hand, she pointed at the fool still lying on the ground. The blue light shot out of her fingertip again, wrapping itself around the man. The light lifted him up and set him back on his feet.

Crying, the fool wheeled over to her. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” it wailed. “I will never fail you again!”

“Oh yes you will, you ingrate,” Mildid said to him as he came to a stop in front of her. “But now is not the time. Get inside.”
