7. Meet the Love

"Aaaauuuu!" the voice of a wolf far away in the forest fills the silence of the night in Lago Village.

—It's Time—

"Full moon," I said, looking up at the moon.

"Why tonight? The night I was on duty with my friends? There is Layzal, the smart detective; Roni, the lousy assistant detective, and Leni, who doesn't care. Especially when Darcia is around, she forgets everything," I said to myself.

"Leni!"

"Yes, Sist?"

"Len, you patrol to the west and let me go to the south. When you have done, go home."

"Are you going home right away, too, Sist?"

"Yes. See you at home. If anything happens to you, call me. If not, Layzal or Roni. Okay?"

"Yes, Sist!" said Leni.

After we agree, then we split up.

"Now, where should I go look for prey? The villagers were also in the house. There was no way I could barge into a bedroom and bite those who are sleeping. Yes, when they are sleeping, but what if they are not? Ah, I will go to market instead of stalking villagers!" I disappeared to the market.

***

Once I had arrived at the market, I saw two thieves in the jewelry shop.

"Hurry up and take all the jewelry!" said thief one.

"Yes, this bag is about full. Have you taken the money in the drawer yet?" asked thief two.

"Already," answered thief one.

"Okay, everything has been taken. Let's go now!" said thief two. Once they had taken everything, they rushed to the car and drove off as fast as possible.

"Hahaha, Bro, we will be rich," said thief one.

Both of them laughed happily in the car while listening to dangdut music. They were too happy until they did not realize I was sitting in the back seat with a devil's face. I stretched my deadly long fingernails forward. Then they looked back, "Aaaaa!" they screamed and lost control, causing the car to crash into the road divider. They fainted, and immediately I bit them.

"Finally, I'm full! Sorry brothers, let's say that life is more painful than death. Besides, you guys--should be grateful for not being in prison," I said, with my mouth covered in blood. After killing them, I disappeared into the river and cleaned up before heading home.

"Ela! Where have you been? We have been looking for you," Layzal panicked.

"Zal, don't panic. I'm fine. I was lost, but look, I know to get home. I'm sorry, guys, hehe."

"It is okay. Next time let us know, please. So that we do not worry so much, and now, let's take a rest first!" said Layzal.

"Yes, Sir! You, too, have a good rest."

I went to my room and rested. While Leni shook her head because I didn't ask her for help.

I lay on the bed. In my mind said, "Mother, look at your child whose life is full of lies. Just like you, Mother, living with lies."

***

"Knock knock knock," someone has knocked on our door. Then a voice sounded, "Mr. Layzal, Mr. Layzal!" someone called Layzal.

Layzal opened the door and said, "Good morning, Mr. Din. May I help you?"

"I'm sorry, Sir--I have disturbed you so early in the morning. Look, there was an accident at the border. We did not dare to get close because it is best that you and your team see it yourself," said Mr. Din.

"It is all right, Mr. Din. Let us go and see right now. Thank you for the information," Layzal thanked Mr.Din.

After giving the information, Mr. Din left. Layzal called us to get ready to go to the crime scene.

"What a senile vampire! Why don't I burn the car as well--that way, there would be no traces, evidence, or anything like that." I'm annoyed at myself for letting them in the car without hiding any trace.

"Everyone ready?" asked Layzal.

"Yes, we are ready!" we answered in unison. And then we went to the scene.

***

We arrived at the scene, and there were lots of people gathered. When they saw us coming, they immediately stepped aside and made room for us to evacuate the body.

"Now I know..." said Layzal.

"The wounds on their necks are the same as those on animal carcasses," said Roni.

"This is spooky! said Leni."

"Probably got bitten by a cobra, python, or anaconda. Anaconda, the biggest snake," I said.

After hearing my words, they looked at me with blank faces.

"Ela, serious, please," pleaded Layzal.

"Yes, yes, let's evacuate the body first. Zal, this is the best punishment for those robbers."

"How do you know that they are robbers?" Layzal is curious.

"Here," I pointed out the jewelry and money they had stolen.

"Oh my gosh! These robbers are greedy," said Leni, who saw wads of money and jewelry in a backpack.

"Tin tin tin," the sound of the car horn, then the car stopped. Someone got out of the car, tall, neatly dressed, and I call him a handsome businessman.

"Zal!" he called Layzal.

"Ammar, hi Bro, how are you?"

"Fine, how about you?"

"I am fine too. As usual busy." Layzal smiled.

"Accident?"

"Yep. Oh yeah, let me introduce my new team. Roni, you know, but they don't. Ela's right, and Leni's left."

"Hi, everyone," he smiled.

Oh, is this what love at first sight is? My heart was beating fast. Not love at first sight because he did not look at me. But still, he is my first love because my heart is about to burst," I daydreamed.

"All right then, be safe on duty because I also have a meeting," said Ammar.

"Meeting at RS Lago?" Tanya Lazal.

"Yes," said Ammar, then he left.

After Ammar left, Layzal focused on returning to work. "Okay, now the body is to be taken to Lago Hospital. Ela, please check again so there is no evidence or items left behind!" Layzal asked me.

However, I still stood lost in thought and did not hear his words. Then he called repeatedly,

"Ela Ela Ela!"

"Yes, Zal?"

"Ela, please check again so there's no evidence or items left behind!"

"Fine, Zal," I immediately checked all the things. After that, we went to Lago Hospital to evacuate and investigate their bodies.

***

Once we arrived at Lago Hospital, we immediately investigated their bodies.

"Judging from the wound on its neck, what kind of animal bites a human on the neck?" Layzal asked us.

"Doctor knows the answer," I pointed at Doctor.

"Vampire and Dracula," said the Doctor.

"That's not an animal, Sir. Besides, there are no vampires and Dracula. Even if there is will be only on television," I said, looking at Layzal because he was starting to believe in vampires.

"It could also be a vampire because only vampires and Dracula suck human blood," Layzal said firmly.

"Leech also sucks human blood," I said.

"Ela, leeches suck human blood but don't bite humans. I mean, even if a leech bites a human, the wound is not as big and deep as this," said Layzal while showing the wound on the neck of the robber's corpse.

"I believe there must be other creatures in this world," said Roni.

"It's bad this world is not safe anymore. Later I want to ask permission from Mr. Jos. I want to patrol during the day and not at night."

"What's wrong, Len?"

"Oh! Ela, if I patrol at night, what if there's a vampire? I'm not ready to die. I'm not married yet. I have not had the chance to date."

"Enough, enough! All right, everyone, let the body be buried first for the time being. And in the future, we had to be careful not to let our guard down," said Layzal.

After a long time, we were in the morgue finally--we came out.

"Ammar!" Layzal called Ammar. Then he asked, "Is the meeting over yet?"

"Already. Zal, excuse me. I still have lots of work to do."

"Sure, see you soon," said Layzal.

Ammar left us. I also felt curious about him, so I asked Layzal, "Zal, why is he here?"

"Ammar, he is the boss."

"Oh, he is the owner of Lago Hospital?"

"His father is the owner of Lago Hospital. Let's say he is the CEO of a medical health company, including Lago Hospital. Why do you ask, do you like him?"

"No. I am just curious he looks like a businessman, but why is he in the hospital like a doctor," I lied.

"Ooh, curious, huh."

"Fortunately, I'm not Pinocchio, where when he lies, his nose grows," I smiled at myself.
