13. Where is She?

The next morning-Leni called MR. Jos and told him what had happened. When talking on the phone, she tried to stay calm–even though she was nervous. Worried about that, I fell victim to a vampire.

After hearing Leni's, explanation, MR. Jos sent police personnel to Lago Village to help find me. While waiting for help from the police, Leni asked the villagers to look for me, too.

"Mr. Jos," said Leni softly. She was surprised when she saw Mr. Jos get out of the police car because she knew Mr. Jos was busier in the city than in the village.

"Good afternoon, Sir," Leni greeted Mr. Jos.

"Good afternoon, Leni. How is everything? Is there any news from the residents or not?" asked Mr. Jos.

"Not yet, Sir. Sorry, Sir, unlike normal days, today you went straight to the crime scene. Usually, you just order police personnel," said Leni, who was still surprised by Mr. Jos' arrival.

"Oh, that is because I tried to call Layzal and Roni, but they couldn't be reached for some reason. I wanted to ask for help to come here to help look for Ela, but never mind, let's look for Ela. Leni, do you still have the Shenfu paper?"

"Yes, I still have, Sir," Leni gave the Shenfu paper to Mr. Jos and others, and then they rushed to find me.

They patrolled around Lago Village, calling my name. They had been looking for me all day, but unfortunately, no news or signs of where I was.

The day was getting dark, so they took a rest for a while. They sat on the patrol place while eating packaged rice.

"Where are they? Why can't be contacted from earlier," said Mr. Jos while holding his cell phone trying to contact Layzal and Roni.

"Maybe their cell phone is broken, Sir," said Leni.

"Broken simultaneously? Even if the cell phone broke, they should have informed me using a public telephone. It doesn't disappear like this, I'm worried. Worried about being bitten by a vampire."

"Relax, Sir, don't worry. They are top detectives, and they should be fine."

"The so-called vampire doesn't look at detectives or police. They can disappear and suddenly behind him, then bite their prey sadistically."

"Wow! Aren't vampires with their arms straight out in front of them and jumping like pocong? What I mean is a vampire's body is stiff and can't take a step, so his movement can't be fast."

"Who said that vampires walk up and down?"  Mr. Jos asked Leni with a face holding back laughter.

"None said, Sir. However, I saw on television that the vampire was jumping up and down. In addition, the way to catch it is the same as using Shenfu paper. Right, Sir? After all, it was you who suggested catching vampires using Shenfu paper. With that, you must know very well about vampires."

"Leni, I don't know whether we can catch vampires using Shenfu paper because capturing vampires using Shenfu paper was an ancient great-grandfather's story."

"So, you are not sure that we can catch him using the Shenfu paper. What if we continue the search tomorrow because it's late at night? Dangerous if there's a vampire, our lives will be lost. Tomorrow will be safe because vampires are afraid of the sun."

"Leni, it's okay, after we're done eating, let's continue our search. After all, life and death are in God's hands. The important thing is we have to keep trying and praying."

"Okay, Sir," said Leni.

After they finished eating, they rushed to continue their search. They walked through gardens, rice fields, and to the river. They also searched the border area between the village of Lago and the town of Archipelago.

However, the search remained fruitless. Finally, they stopped looking and continued their search the next morning.

The night turned into morning, they immediately continued their search.

"Good morning, sir," Layzal and Roni greeted Pak Jos.

"Morning. Where have you been? I have been trying to contact you since yesterday, but I couldn't," Mr. Jos asked Layzal and Roni.

"I am sorry, Sir, my cell phone battery is low. Meanwhile, Roni's cell phone fell into the toilet," Layzal answered.

"What does it mean? Why did his cell phone fall into the toilet? Roni, are you playing a game in the bathroom?" asked Mr. Jos to Roni.

"No Sir," replied Roni, then he looked at Layzal.

"That's not it, Sir. Yesterday, we were investigating an incident that occurred in a public bathroom. We are there looking for traces or anything that can corroborate evidence because the middle-aged woman said that the devil's mouth was covered in blood, so who knows if there was blood dripping on the floor," said Layzal explaining where they were yesterday.

"Now I understand. Well done, Zal, you brought your bloodhound. Yesterday I was in a hurry so I forgot to bring it. Now let's continue the search."

"Yes, Sir," said Layzal.

With the Canine sniffer dog commonly called K-9, they hope to find me alive, dead, or in the form of my remains.

"Ela, where are you? Why did you suddenly disappear? Now I'm confused and worried about your situation. There are only three possibilities with your departure. Firstly, if you are a vampire, you disappear because you are worried about your safety.

"Secondly, you are the victim, but why we haven't found your body yet?

"Thirdly, you were taken away by a vampire and will be made his wife. Oh, no-no, this can't be. Why am I thinking such a ridiculous thing?

"Oh, God! Where is she?" In his mind and heart, Layzal grumbled to himself.
