19. Four Eyes

Layzal, Roni, and Leni are still in a room at Club Euphoria.

"Ela?!" they said in unison.

"Zal, that is Ela," said Leni, pointing to the CCTV. Then she said, "But why is she here and dressed like that?"

Instead of answering Leni's question, Layzal told Roni and Leni to go to Trinity Police Academy. Meanwhile, Layzal went to Ammar's house. But first, he assured them that everything would be fine. He also convinced them that what they saw was not necessarily true. There could be someone who looks like Ela. After convincing Leni and Roni, Layzal hurriedly left the two of them.

"Ela, is that you? Are you the vampire?" Layzal asked himself. He was confused because if it was true that Ela was the vampire, then he had to be able to lose. Layzal feels confused because he loves Ela and has to be responsible for his work. He was not ready to kill the woman he loved, but he had to do it. Moreover, Layzal is a man who will put what is right as right and what is wrong as wrong. So, what he feels right now is upset.

Meanwhile, in another place, Ammar felt panicked because he found out about a murder victim. He was worried about Ela's safety. He knew that Ela's safety was threatened. Apart from that, he was sure that Layzal and his team had obtained all the evidence or motive for the murder because there were a lot of photos of the masher man plastered everywhere. Ammar was thinking, looking for a way to find and save Ela. He could not possibly stay at home while Ela was out there in danger. He thought hard until finally, he remembered one place, Lore Lindu. Ammar got ready to look for Ela right then and there. He prepared all the things he would take into the forest. However, when he was preparing the things he was going to bring, he heard the doorbell ring. Ammar was silent for a moment. He thought about who the hell was visiting someone's house at night.

"Ding dong ding dong ding dong," the doorbell kept ringing. Ammar finally went downstairs and opened the door.

"Layzal?!" Ammar was surprised that the uninvited guest was Layzal. Then he asked, "What's wrong, Zal? Why are you here at this time of night?" Ammar asked.

"I want to talk to you face to face. Now I don't want to beat around the bush anymore. Where is Ela?" Layzal asked.

"Why, Zal? Why come and ask with such a serious face?" Ammar asked Layzal back because he saw Layzal's face looking fierce.

"You must already know about the problem that is currently happening, and it has something to do with Ela," said Layzal while looking at Ammar.

"What do you mean, Zal? I do not understand," Ammar pretended not to understand what Layzal was talking about.

"Ammar, if you remember, before Ela arrived in Archipelago City--this city was safe. But since she came here, Archipelago City and its surroundings are not safe anymore. Ammar, where is Ela now?" Layzal again questioned Ela's whereabouts.

Ammar stood stunned, but he would try to deny Layzal's various speculations. He said, "So you accused Ela of being the vampire. Layzal, your thoughts are cruel. Ela, in my eyes, is a very good woman. She can not be the vampire."

"Can you prove that she is not the vampire? Ammar, as long as you know, I came here alone so that we can talk more freely about all this, and of course, it is a secret. Also, you should know that we, the police, have obtained evidence that Ela was the perpetrator. You can not deny, Ammar, because the camera can not lie. It is not like humans are good at lying."

"Layzal, I did not think that just because of the camera, you would just believe it. Did you know that vampires have supernatural powers? He can change shape to become anyone he wishes. He can also disappear here and there. Moreover, if Ela was the vampire, anyone near her would have become her prey because vampires thirst for human blood. Now, let's see, we are all still alive. I'm sure that Ela was a scapegoat by the vampire," said Ammar.

Layzal was silent when he heard Ammar's words. He thought there was some truth. Maybe Ela was a scapegoat by the vampire.

"Maybe...but where is Ela now?" Layzal repeated his question.

Ammar casually answered, "Ela is in the room, but she's already asleep."

"Could I see it?" Layzal asked because he was still curious about Ela's whereabouts. He wanted to make sure that Ela was actually in the room.

"See it? Zal, Ela always locks her bedroom door when she is sleeping," said Ammar.

"How do you know that she always locks her bedroom door?" Layzal asked in surprise.

Ammar was embarrassed by Layzal's question, but he tried to be as relaxed as possible and answer his questions. He answered, "I know because Ela told me she locked her bedroom door. It is normal, Zal. Girls must be able to look after themselves, especially in a guy's house."

"Do you have a spare key?" Layzal asked Ammar.

"I don't have, Zal. I know, Layzal, you are curious and want to confirm Ela's whereabouts. But there is no way in the middle of the night like this to open the bedroom door just to see Ela sleeping. There is still time tomorrow and the following days. So come back here, meet and greet her. I beg you not to hurt Ela because..." Ammar stopped talking.

Layzal, while squinting his eyes, asked, "Because of what?"

"Because she does not deserve to be hurt," answered Ammar, hoping that Layzal would end the conversation.

"Okay, I will be here again tomorrow morning. Ammar, I hope you still remember what you said before," said Layzal.

"What do you mean, Zal? I do not understand," asked Ammar because he was confused by Layzal's words.

"You will help me to catch vampires," answered Layzal, ending the conversation. After that, Layzal left, leaving Ammar alone.

Meanwhile, Ammar was still standing on the balcony of his house, watching Layzal walk away from his sight. He also remembered his previous words where he would help catch vampires. But now, he will not catch it. He will try to protect Ela, even if his life is at stake.

"Tonight, I have to go look for Ela," he muttered as he walked into the house.
