[As a means of selling this idea to you, I’ll just mention before the real synopsis that this story’s world is kind of like Genshin Impact, but imagine if the main character was just some existentialist rather than a hero who was already pure of heart to begin with.
This is a story of great character development.]

Imagine if a nihilistic, ‘grown up’, realist, were to suddenly be transported into a fantasy world as though he were in a video game?

Imagine if that person was once a gamer, but after trying to become more ‘serious’, the thought of trying to enjoy himself never crossed his mind again for years.

Imagine if after that depressive cycle, he was thrust out of his world where everything made sense, and no matter how hard he wished, his idea of normal in this new world wasn’t something that mattered to others.

He encounters a variety of unique people and challenges, and all of these things come as a surprise to him, since he hasn’t met a single pure thing in his previous world.

Honest friends, adventure, and purpose, something that seems only fitting for a fantasy world.

He struggles with the idea of wanting to know if he would have ever had the chance to find such happiness in the original world he came from.

Things eat at him, but even though he knows that is stupid, he wants answers and security, not a quick fix that was simply handed to him out of luck.


[If you still don’t know what this is about, and you’ve played at least the charactet selection part of Genshin Impact, then imagine that this is a story where the main character isn’t some hero from another world and came from our’s, but also doesn’t have anything to fight for in particular at the start, which in Genshin Impact, he would have been trying to reunite with his twin sister, but our protagonist in this story has no such friend/family/lover to to love.]

A Realist Is Transported To An Ideal Fantasy

"Huh?!", Kain doesn't know how to take the situation anymore.

'Isn't giving me something to fight for supposed to be a GOOD thing? Why is she offering something that could help me?'

"Hmmm, it'll takes some time to reset your default state to the same way of experiencing things in the way nature intended for you, the same way as you were a child, but you'll have to practice it, whether you like it or not."

"W-what do I have to do?", his minds rushes, thinking about why he can feel something right now compared to other serious events in his recent life that should have also stood out as significant.

"No, YOU. You must let go. Let go of everything. Start over. No more ego, no more malevolence, only remain true to yourself as a simple observer."

"I don't understand what those words mean…"

"These words aren't logical definitions, they're specific experiences. The fastest way to learn is to learn things the hard way…", she then gives a cheeky and devilish grin while tilting her head.

[A vortex begins to open up beneath them.]

"WAIT WAIT WAIT! YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T DROP ME! AND WHAT'S ON THE OTHERSIDE??!"

She chuckles, "Change of plans. I'll be breaking my promise now :)"

"WHAT'S ON THE OTHERSIDE??!", he tightens his grip on her, but her thin arms have the strength of entire vehicles, so she stretches her arms out again without him being able to do anything about it.

"Why not enjoy a little bit of a surprise?", everything goes silent, and he has a 100 yard stare for a moment.

She laughs, "How cute.", and then drops him.
