Two Women in Conflict

After obtaining the information he wanted, Rosendo gave the whole pack of cigarettes he bought to the stall owner. He then went into a wholesale department in a grocery store. It was lively inside, with many people buying things. They had almost everything there, just like a supermarket.

Rosendo found the section for books and asked the boss about the prices. He started selecting those novels that looked good after that. Rosendo chose around three hundred books in total. Surprisingly, he also saw various CDs available for purchase at the wholesale department of the grocery store. He picked around fifty CDs from popular singers to test if they would sell well before making further plans.

After paying for everything, Rosendo rented a car to transport all his purchases back home. Once he arrived at his place, Rosendo got busy right away. He uploaded each book's title and summary online and used his phone to take pictures of their covers to post on the internet as well.

In order to make it visually appealing, Rosendo made it look like a novel website directly. Selecting these books took him several hours already; now putting up their content online would take even more time.

The place where Rosendo lived was quite far from New Mountain City University . The reason why he previously rented a house in such an isolated area was to save money. But now that he had some money saved up and considering how far his current residence was from NMCU, Rosendo thought about renting a place closer to school.

Vanessa didn't mind either way; as long as she could be with Rosendo, it didn't matter where they lived.

Rosendo's website became popular among students because it attracted many people due to its wide range of products available there.

If something wasn't available elsewhere, you could find it through Rosendo; whatever item you needed would appear by next day delivery and all at cheaper prices than outside.

Johanna had been feeling very frustrated lately. She felt like Rosendo was deliberately avoiding her, and it was difficult for her to even meet him once. In the past, she used to see Rosendo often when he made deliveries, but now that Rosendo had brought Gus on board and assigned him the delivery tasks, his presence on campus became almost non-existent.

"Damn Rosendo! Stupid Rosendo! He doesn't even come to class anymore. Let's see how he'll pass the exams," Johanna muttered quietly while leaning against the corridor wall.

"Are you missing him?" Suddenly, a voice appeared next to Johanna.

Johanna blurted out, "Of course I do! I still... Monroe, why is it you?"

"Is it strange that it's me? Hey, Johanna, are you really falling for my brother Rosendo?" Monroe curiously asked. He still wasn't sure if Johanna pretending to like Rosendo was genuine or not.

"I really like him," Johanna shyly admitted. She wasn't afraid of others knowing that she liked Rosendo. In fact, she wanted to tell Rosendo herself through someone else's words.

Upon hearing Johanna's words, Monroe furrowed his brow and muttered to himself, "That's strange then. You're the school belle; there are at least eight thousand guys chasing after you. How come Rosendo doesn't show any reaction? Could he already have feelings for someone else?"

"What did you say? Does Rosendo have feelings for someone else? Who is it—tell me quickly?" Johanna nervously asked Monroe. She had a feeling too; being the school belle and an heiress of a conglomerate, how could there be any guy who didn't like her?

"I don't know either; I'm just randomly guessing. But if nothing unexpected happens, he should like Vanessa. Haven't you noticed? They're together every day and even live close by," Monroe speculated.

"Yes, it must be Vanessa—it has to be her! I'm going to find her right now." Johanna turned around and headed back to the classroom.

"Hey hey—I was just randomly guessing! Don't take it seriously," Monroe hurriedly said to Johanna but she ignored him and continued on her way back to the classroom. Worried about a conflict between Johanna and Vanessa breaking out, he quickly followed behind.

At this moment in the classroom, Vanessa was doing homework when she saw an angry-looking Johanna approaching her. Curious, she couldn't help but ask, "Johanna, do you need something?"

"Vanessa, tell me honestly. Do you like Rosendo?" Johanna asked seriously.

"Why are you asking me this?" Vanessa questioned with a stern face. She was curious how Johanna found out about her feelings for Rosendo since she had never told anyone before.

"How I found out doesn't matter—just answer me now. Do you really like Rosendo?" Johanna urgently asked. She was truly anxious because if Vanessa admitted to liking Rosendo, then it was highly likely that Rosendo and Vanessa were already together.

"I'm not telling you, hmph," Vanessa said coquettishly, ignoring Johanna and continuing to do her homework with her head down.

In fact, she really wanted to be like Johanna, fearless in love and hate, but she didn't have the courage. It was all because she cared too much about her cousin Xuan.

"Just tell me already! Do you really like Rosendo?" Johanna pressed on.

Vanessa didn't answer her, so Johanna continued, "If you don't speak up, I'll just assume that you like Rosendo."

Still no response from Vanessa. This caused a severe blow to Johanna's heart - even more severe than before. The person she loved had feelings for someone else instead of her. She used to anticipate the feeling of being in love when she hadn't been in a relationship yet. Now that she knew what it felt like to be in love, she suddenly realized how painful it could be.

Johanna left the classroom and found her good friend Cheryl to vent about her unhappiness. Cheryl was always full of ideas and this time was no exception. She suggested that Johanna go directly ask Rosendo herself. Surprisingly enough, Johanna agreed.

Holding Cheryl's hand tightly, they went back to Rosendo's place but couldn't find him there. They had no choice but to call him instead; turns out he had just arrived at the security office near New Mountain University with some goods.

So they returned to New Mountain University and finally met Rosendo at the security office by the entrance gate. Stepping inside the office, Johanna asked seriously: "Do you have feelings for another girl?"

Rosendo turned his head from chatting online and replied: "No!"

"No? Are you lying to me?" doubted Johanna.

Cheryl chimed in beside Joanna: "Yeah! If there's nothing going on between you two then why are you always together, even living together?"

"Hehe... You suspect that she's my girlfriend, right? Hehe... Your imagination is too rich. Don't you think we're more like siblings?" Rosendo explained with a smile.
