The bar had long since been cleared and was currently not open for business. Alexander and Laura stepped out together, intending to move on to another location.
But Roxi, who had just woken up, followed behind Alexander. "Sir, please wait," she called.
Alexander stopped and turned around. Roxi ran up to him, her chest heaving with her heavy breathing.
"What is it?" Alexander asked.
Roxi took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Alexander, you've saved my life again. I must repay you. What do you need?"
Alexander looked at the approaching Roxi, his brow slightly furrowed. "No need to repay me. I just happened to be there to help," he said, turning to leave.
But he seemed to remember something and asked, "You own this bar, right?"
"Yes," Roxi nodded.
"Do you know anything about that woman... the so-called fortune teller?" Alexander asked.
"Not much. She told me she's from a small place... I didn't ask too many questions," Roxi responded.
