"Really? You're only noticing now?" Robert gasped, clutching his chest as he regained his composure. "You've been here for over ten minutes, and we're less than two meters away from you. And you're only noticing now?"
"Alexander, your timing is impeccable," Robert said, catching his breath. "Had you not arrived when you did, we would've been done for."
Alexander gave a wry smile. "Of course. Judging by how fragile you both looked, death seemed inevitable."
Louis muttered under his breath, "A little humility wouldn't hurt, you know."
Without another word, Alexander flicked his wrist, and like a magician pulling a rabbit from a hat, he produced two pills of mysterious origin and tossed them to Robert and Louis.
"Eat these, quick. We need to find the High Priest posthaste. We can't afford to dawdle here," Alexander urged.
