Chapter 10

Just as I entered home, my nose was filled with the aroma of chicken breast. I quickly ran to the kitchen and hug Aunt Iris, “Mama, I missed you so much.” She laughed and pull back from the hug, “More like missed my cooking.” I took a plate from the cabinet and went to her, “Look, you know me so well.” She put one leg piece on my plate and as she was about to put another piece, I heard Kathy shout, “Mom, I am gonna watch some movies so just send some pieces to my room.” I sarcastically smiled, “Mama, call an ambulance just in case because she is dead today.” I put my plate on the counter and started running towards her.

When she realized that I was there at the back, she started running towards Uncle Harvey’s office while shouting, “Ughh! Mom, why did you tell her I was here?” Mom shouted back, “Lory, I have called an ambulance just in case.” I smirked at her as she barged into the office and I followed her. Uncle was not even shocked to see us there. She went to the side of my uncle and stood behind his chair while I stood on the opposite side of the table.

She was irritated as she spoke, “Come on it was just a damn vase.” I banged my hand on the table, “That damn vase was important to me just like this damn headband is important to you.” Her eyes widened as she saw her favorite headband in my hands. Payback time. “Look, let’s just talk this out. Give me my headband, okay.” She started coming towards me and the moment she was near me I threw her headband outside the window and took her head in a headlock.

“You bitch!” She bit my arm. “Ouch!” Now I pushed her onto the floor and sat on top of her. She grabbed my hair and started pulling them. I took her hair in my hands and started pulling them as well. Uncle said as he walked past us, “Consider the leg pieces finished.” Oh no. Leg pieces are more important. We both released each other and she spoke, “Look, if Dad reaches before us then it’s over for us.” I nod my head and suddenly had an idea, “You go out and stop Papa midway and indulge him in talking while I will grab leg pieces and go to our room.” “Leg piece rescue plan is on.”

After eating I went downstairs and saw Aunt watching 12 dancing princesses. “Mama, how could you watch this without me,” I said as I plopped down on the couch. “With my eyes darling. They work perfectly fine without you as well.” “Ha ha very funny, huh.” It was 30 minutes since we were watching the movie and Aunt Iris suddenly spoke, “So, tell me now what’s wrong with you?” I was seriously taken aback for a minute but then again, she knows me better than myself. “To be honest, I can’t tell you what’s wrong but a lot of things are bothering me right now. I just feel like crying.” As if on cue my tears started to roll off my cheek and she instantly hugged me. “It’s okay dear. Everything will be all right. I know you are not ready to tell me and I won’t push you but just know that I am always there to listen to your problems. And by the way, I am sure you are strong enough to solve your problems. Remember you are my ninja.” I instantly laughed at this.

After that much-needed therapy session with Aunt Iris, I drove back to the castle. I immediately went to my room and started studying knowing that I have already wasted my day out there and now I seriously need to study. Like cmon can you believe that only 5 days are left for my exams and all these messed up things had to appear these days? I have to keep my mind indulging in my studies because it’s my final term and I need to ace this to become a lawyer. I am already so close to it and now just I have to be a bit strong and endure it for a little while.

It's been 3 hours since I started studying, I was feeling really hungry so I decided to go and catch up with my Nutella. I took the bottle out of the cabinet and what the hell! Why is this empty? I instantly barged into Steve’s room and saw him eating my Nutella while working on my laptop. “How dare you?” I shouted as I throw the pencil in my hand at him. “Ouch! Can you be gentler? Who in the world made you princess?” I was boiling with anger, “Steve, I am not kidding. I am seriously hungry and you know exactly how horrible I can be.”

Just as I said this, I heard Addy coming to the room, “Steve, have you completed the psychiatric ward file?” Steve showed him his laptop, “No, I am just in the middle of completing it but Jenny won’t let me.” I won’t let him? Huh. Look who’s talking? Of course, the one who ate my Nutella. “Why, what happened?” Addy asked turning towards me. I pointed my finger at Steve, “That damn boy ate my Nutella. I am hungry and you know I cannot cook. I ate the last ice cream box yesterday and this brat finished all of my chips while I was not here.” I was practically glaring daggers at Steve and he just shrugged. What?

Addy calmly smiled and took my hand in his, “Let’s go out to eat then. Just let this lazy bone finish this work or else Dad will eat up my ear.” Addy dragged me out of the room but I still kept glaring at Steve until he was out of sight. Seriously if looks could kill, Steve would be dead by now. Even though I am going with Addy right now but I am gonna get back at him. I never forgive Nutella thief.

Addy took me to a really quiet restaurant. There were fewer people there. We took a seat at the back of the restaurant. I called the waitress and she came running to me. “One plate of chicken cheese macaroni and one plate of chicken sizzler. Also, chocolate sundae.” I turn to Addy to order something but he said, “That will be all.” The waitress dot down the order and smiled and left. I turn my head to Addy with a questionable look on my face. “What? I am not hungry. I just came from a date.”

I scoffed at that, “Oh yes, the girlfriend that you are not letting me meet, huh.” He smirked, “Well, just turn your head.” I was confused but turned nonetheless. A girl was standing there wearing a golden color gown and her hair elegantly falling over her shoulders. She had a genuine smile on her face. Oh my god, she had dimples and she was blushing as well. So cute. Addy stood up and side-hugged her and gestured for her to sit next to him. Wow, I have never seen him this polite. Wait, did he just pull the chair for her? He never did that for me. Wait am I getting jealous? No, never.

The girl had her hand stretched towards me as she spoke, “Hi, my name is Selena Hogwarts.” I smile and shake hands with her, “Hello, I am Loretta Harvey. Are you sure you are Addy’s girlfriend?” The girl, I mean Selena gave a confused smile, “Um, yeah.” Addy laughed and spoke, “Lory, stop scaring her.” I laughed and spoke, “Yeah, okay okay.” Just then the food arrived and I started to dig in the food. When I was halfway through completing my pasta, I remembered some basic manner of offering your food.

I nervously smiled and look up to find the love birds having a staring contest. “Hey.” I wave my hand in front of their eyes but they didn’t even blink. Wow, intense. I just ignored them and ate my food. I wanted to eat ice cream now and this restaurant does not have it. I don’t want to disturb the love birds from their romantic ‘date’ so I paid the bill and got out of the restaurant and then sent Addy a text.

Addy:

Enjoy your date.

I am off to eat ice cream and then off home.

I booked a cab and went to a nearby ice cream parlor. I ordered chocolate chip ice cream and started eating it. “Hey, what are you doing here alone?” I heard a familiar voice and turned to see the source of it. “Just enjoying alone time.” I lied. Ashton smiled, “Well have a nice day. I will see you later. I have my girlfriend waiting for me there.” “Yeah okay.”

I don’t know what’s happening to me but I kinda feel sad after meeting Addy’s girlfriend. I don’t know what this feeling is but I just don’t like that he has another girl in his life. I also wanted to spend some alone time with Addy since we already came out. But okay whatever. After glancing at the girl and Ashton talking sweetly, I made my way out and started walking on the streets. After all, my mother didn’t stay with me so how am I supposed to expect anyone else to stay with me? This is the reason I never got a boyfriend. BAAAAANNNNGGGGGG! My body felt numb and darkness took over me.
