Finally, Mary came to the living room. She was wearing a silver beaded dress. She looked simply stunning. I have no words to describe her. We both walked to Lamborghini and the chauffeur opened the door for us and we both sat. There were two cars ahead of us and two cars behind us for security purposes. It indicates that someone from the King’s family is inside. When we reached Kathy’s boutique, there were hundreds of people outside and inside the shop. The last time I saw this many people was when Kathy’s Boutique was chosen as a national fashion store.
Kathy welcomed Mary and then told us to choose clothes. I saw Lisa standing near one of the racks. I went to her with Mary. “Mary meet my friend Lisa.” Mary smiled and shook her hand. Lisa looked like she was now ready to die. She suddenly jumped and said, “Oh my God, I am such a big fan of yours. I have read all the books you have written. Especially ‘Twist of Fate’ is my personal favorite. Can I please have your autograph?” She is so silly dude. Mary’s smile was so wide that it looked like her lips were hurting from smiling so hard. I know this is the most special moment for her. She always wanted to get recognized as a writer rather than getting recognized as a princess.
While Mary and Lisa were fan moments, I saw Kathy and Steve arguing. I can’t believe that they are not teenagers. I went to them and Steve turned to me, “Jenn- I mean Lory can you please tell Kathy not to make such a big deal out of small problems.” Kathy let out an annoying laugh and turned to me as well, “Fine then Lory you can be the judge. There was this party where I was going to meet Designer Veronica but I couldn’t go to the party and you wanna know why? Because our little boy Steve had a bet with his friends that if there will be anyone in the party whom they know then they will have to visit a haunted place.” Something clicked in my mind upon hearing this. “Steve show me the picture of the boy who suggested the bet.” Steve hesitantly took out his picture from his phone and handed it to me. I instantly spoke, “It’s Fiona’s brother.” Kathy spoke through gritted teeth, “That bitch Fiona. She is the only one who could steep at this level.”
“Guys, I have an amazing idea. Steve, you call your friend and tell him to meet you at the wrestling gym. Kathy, you also text Fiona, ‘Care for a match at the wrestling gym in 10 mins’ and I am sure she will come, seeing how competent she is. Other than that leave it up to me.” I start making my way to Mary. “But-’’ Too late. I reached Mary before Steve could finish his sentence. Mary and Lisa were getting along really well. “Hey, Mary. I have a favor to ask.” Mary turned to me smiling, “I will grant you anything seriously I got to make a friend because of you.” Lisa was sending me flying kisses from beside Mary. Wow, they are getting along too well. Huh, it’s not like I am jealous. She can be friends with whomever she wants. “There is a situation and I need to go with Steve and Kathy somewhere. If you don’t mind can you please do shopping with Lisa? And you know that this whole place is guarded and we have our guards outside as well and Kathy will close the shop so you two will be alone here until we come.” Kathy made a pouty face at first but then what she said surprised me, “I am okay with it. I don’t mind spending some time with my new friend.” Lisa nodded her head, “Me too. I would love to hang out with her.”
Before leaving I text Lisa about the good news Dad told me. Yes, you are right Lisa is an interior designer but she had so many part-time jobs that she never got assigned as an interior designer. Although her whole house was designed by her. Just as I sat in the car with Steve and Kathy I heard Lisa shout. Looks like she read the text. I text one more person during the ride and her response was exactly what I expected from her.
When we entered the wrestling gym, Alec, Fiona’s brother was standing there with a smirk on his face, “Are you guys ganging upon me? Too bad I am a fighter.” This time I smirk at him, “I hope you end up without serious injuries.” Just as I said this, Fiona entered the hall, “Alec! Why are you here?” Before Alec could say anything Lucy came in. “Senior you-’’ Lucy didn’t even let him complete his sentence since she kicked him on the head and he instantly fell on the floor unconscious. Fiona’s eyes widened. There was an eerie silence which was broken by Steve, “Is he dead?” Lucy shook his head with an amusing smile, “I worked according to the order so he will be unconscious for three days, no more no less.” I hugged Lucy, “Thanks, Lucy.” “Don’t mention it.” Fiona ran to Alec and started her drama while Kathy cleared her throat, “Umm, who is she?” Fiona waved while leaving the room, “I am Fiona. I came in the middle of my training so gotta go there. Bye.” “Bye, Fiona. See ya.”
“You bitch!” Suddenly Fiona started running towards me and she was about to slap me but Steve caught her hand midway, “You can mess up with them as long as you know I am Prince Stevenson.” Fiona’s eyes looked like they will pop out any second. Of course, anyone’s eyes would pop out if they get to know that they just messed with their country’s prince. To be honest, I am waiting for the day when I will be announced as the princess, I am gonna haunt every person who messed with me. Ha ha just kidding there. Fiona bowed to him and then went and kneeled beside Alec. “I hate to say this but you got what you deserve.” And with that, we three sat in Steve’s car.
Kathy and Steve just won’t stop bugging me about who Lucy was. I would love to tell them but I think that Addy should tell them and not me. Whatever I will just ignore them. When we entered the store Mary came to me with a floral light purple long frock, “First, have you chosen your dress for my wedding, tomorrow?” Oops, I did not. I mean I completely forgot about the dress. “Umm, no I haven’t actually,” I said nervously. Mary put the dress in the basket and said, “Then you are wearing this. It will look amazing on you.” Just as I was about to thank her, Kathy shrieked, “Nooo! She can’t wear this, please.” I am wearing the same dress at your wedding.” I smirk at Kathy knowing she hates wearing the same dresses, “Come on, we will look like twins. The only difference will be the color of our hair and eye. We even have the same jawline. And let’s not get started on dimples.” Kathy was bumping her head against Steve’s shoulder. “By the way where is Lisa?” Mary laughed as she spoke, “She was so happy about whatever you texted her so first she made me dance with her, then she chose dozen of clothes and put it in my basket, and then.” Mary’s expression now changed to a sad one, “And then she got a call from her mother and she did not look too happy about it but anyway she left saying her mother want her there right now.”
Oh no, it’s gotta be something bad. I can’t invade her family’s privacy and I do think that maybe they need to have a real conversation among themselves. Finally, we got home and I nervously stopped in the hallway of Uncle Gratiano’s house, “Um, Mary I have got work to do tomorrow morning so can we please move our sleepover to some other day?” I was feeling very ashamed after asking this but I can’t be late to work when I only have one day left for music making which still seems impossible to complete. Mary smiled at me, “It’s okay. I’m tired as well. Let’s do it when I will come to visit you guys.”
After dressing in a grey suit, I finally look around the room, a little bit sad because the week is over and I am again going back to my house. Well, I could never call this house mine because I never lived here, I always came here for a stay and that’s what you do at other’s houses. Okay, depressing thoughts aside. I jog downstairs and saw Steve, Mom, and Dad sitting at the dining table. I sit on my chair, “Good Morning. So what do we have for breakfast today?” Mom smiled at me as she stood up from her chair, “Good Morning dear. Today your Grandma has made breakfast as a feast for all of us. You know Mary will be married tonight and she will directly fly to Spain.” I nod my head, “It has been ages since Grandma cooked. Let’s go!”
After the delicious breakfast, everyone got emotional and there they started to talk about miss you, love you, things. I feel weird in these situations. Suddenly Addy spoke, “I will also miss Jenny you know. This week was the best of all days. At least we all got real family time.” Aunt Lisa nodded and spoke, “I don’t even know when she will be able to live a normal life with her family.” What’s going on? They never talk about these things in front of me. Grandpa shakes his head in sadness, “Since we are anyway talking about it so I have been thinking about this for a while now and what I am going to say right now will not seem right to you all but I have thought it through so you all just have to trust me in this.” Every head turned to Grandpa with confusion written all over their faces. But Grandma’s looks were as if telling Grandpa not to speak.
