Scovia mustered all her strength to maintain her composure. She refused to let Ember see the fear within her. "You think your envy justifies this cruelty, Ember?" she retorted, her voice filled with defiance. "I had a successful business, a loving husband, and a beautiful life. Scovia glanced defiantly at Ember. "Love isn't possessive, Ember. It doesn't give you the right to destroy lives."
