Living a nightmare (2)

Scovia gathered her courage and whispered, "I will tell you."

"What did you say? I can't hear you," Reynolds taunted, leaning closer to listen. As he did, Scovia spat a mouthful of defiance onto his face. Enraged by her audacity, Reynolds viciously slapped Scovia across the cheek.

"You wretched bitch! I don't have all day to play with you," he seethed, storming out of the room. "You have one day to contemplate your options. Otherwise, your child will be the first to suffer the consequences."

With a twisted satisfaction, Ember looked down at Scovia. "Well, well, well. That was quite eye-opening and pleasing to the content of my heart. However, I won't be kind to you just because Reynolds said so. After all, I have a promise to keep. Aiden must be mine, even if it means ending you. But don't worry, I won't let you go so easily. My family has endured much suffering because of you, and you must pay for it, bit by bit."
