In every society, much like adults, even children have their social circles, even at the kindergarten level. Irie found herself surrounded by kids her age, with curious and mischievous faces staring at her. The leader of the gang, a girl with pigtails and a mischievous glint in her eye began the interrogation. "What does your mother do?" she asked, a smirk barely concealed.
Irie, with her innocent gaze, not quite understanding the significance of the question replied, "I don't know. Mommy likes to spend time with me and my brother Liam, so she doesn't go to work." Laughter erupted from the kids. "So, your mother is a housewife?" mocked the girl. Irie, puzzled, as she nodded, "Yes, mommy is daddy's wife if that's what you mean."
The questions continued, "And what about your dad? What does he do?" Irie thought for a moment. She had never seen her father leave for work. "My father also likes to stay home with us," she answered simply.
