As the other parents murmured in admiration, Stephanie smirked proudly and then turned to face Martha with a condescending glare. “Do you regret your actions now?” she taunted. “It’s not too late, though. How about you kneel and lick my feet, apologize for wasting my precious time and falsely accusing my daughter? Maybe I will consider forgiving you.”
Martha sneered at Stephanie. “I pity you!” she retold.
With that, Martha turned and made her way to where Irie was sitting. She knelt beside her, and Martha’s heart sank at the sight of her in pain. She gently asked what had happened. Irie recounted how another child, had pushed her down during playtime. Martha’s blood boiled with anger at the thought of someone hurting this sweet child. Despite the confrontation with Stephanie, Martha’s only concern was for Irie’s well-being.
Stephanie, I Will remember this murmured Martha.
