Random Act of Kindness 19

Among the four cars, the dilapidated was Jeff’s car, and that added to Jennifer’s headache while she watched them drive off.

“Why is he arrogant?” She asked herself. Then, she remembered the beautiful girl that he was holding her hand and her eyes were moist.

“Even if he is in a relationship, he should have respected my love for him.” She mumbled and walked to a nearby washroom to wash up. She observed her face in the mirror for the umpteenth before she left for her office.

“Are you all right, Jennifer? You look whey-faced.” Cliff pointed out. Then, the disenchanted Jennifer, who thought that she had concealed her worries, smiled dryly and inquired.

“Really?”

“Yes. I hope there is no problem?”

“Oh! Not at all. Thanks for your concern.”

All the same, she had to eat her food to remain strong.

At the Ward

After Mr. Israel took his seat, Dr. Williams, who had seen and heard enough, excused himself.

“Excuse me. I will be in the office if you need me.”
