Thea's nervousness

Then they left the toilet and went back to Diana's seat.

Thea walked behind Diana and followed her.

'Oh no, no, this is the direction to the Duke's table, how is this?' Thea thought nervously.

But Thea couldn't just walk away. Thea pushed her nerves aside and walked calmly. Duke wouldn't recognize her either.

Thea led Diana to her seat which was right next to Duke.

"Mom," Duke said and helped Diana sit down.

'This woman is Duke's mother? Oh God,' Thea thought.

Duke finally saw Thea.

"Thank you, Miss," Duke said smiling.

Thea just bowed her head with a faint smile.

"Thank you for helping me, Dear," Diana said holding Thea's hand.

Once again Thea just bowed politely. She didn't want Duke to hear her voice. She was afraid he would recognize her voice, even though in her mind he had probably forgotten about her.

Thea gulped nervously and quickly left Duke's presence.

Thea quickly returned to her original place away from Duke.

Thea exhaled her breath in relief and held her chest which was still beating fast. Her hands were already breaking out in cold sweat.

"Hey, it's like you just saw a ghost, Thea," Alice said from behind Thea.

"Oh my... You scared me, Alice," Thea said in shock.

"After this, let's go straight to the bar at the resort, shall we? Other friends go there too. Come on, Thea. It will be fun," Alice said trying to woo Thea who had never managed to take her to a nightclub.

"No, Alice," Thea replied adamantly.

"Tsk, you always refuse. Okay, I'll open the door when I get home, okay?" Alice said.

All the organizers were allotted to stay at this resort for one night. Thea actually wanted to go home, but Mr. Edward told her to stay overnight for fear that there was something that Thea needed help with.

Finally, the banquet was over and went smoothly. Everyone enjoyed the event and Thea was grateful for that.

Thea then went to her room alone, as Alice was at the bar with the others.

Ting...

The elevator doors opened and Thea saw Duke and his parents in the elevator.

Thea paused. She was unsure whether to go in or not. She couldn't figure out how she could meet Duke out of all the invited guests at this event.

"Dear? Come in," Diana said.

'Oh my God, why do we have to see each other again? I hope Mrs. Diana doesn't call my name,' Thea thought, gulping nervously.

Automatically, Duke looked at Thea and looked at her from toe to toe.

Thea turned her gaze towards Diana and tried to be calm.

'Come on, Thea, he won't recognize you. It's been 8 months, enough silence and no name calling Thea. I hope the Duke's mother doesn't call my name.' Thea tried to calm down.

Thea finally got into the elevator and stood at the edge away from Duke.

Duke suddenly shifted position behind Thea. The distance was quite close even though the elevator was wide.

Thea moved forward and away from Duke again. Thea was completely silent.

Ting...

The elevator doors opened and Duke's parents came out. Thea was slightly relieved. But her relief was delayed because Duke didn't get out of the elevator.

"Duke, you didn't come out?" Diana asked.

"I forgot something downstairs, Mom," said Duke.

"Okay," said Diana.

"See you soon, Son," Diana said smiling at Thea and Thea just smiled back and nodded.

The elevator doors closed. Thea bit her lip because she was getting nervous.

Duke looked at Thea's body from behind. Thea's long hair was tied up and rolled up.

Thea's hands were already covered in cold sweat. Until finally the elevator doors opened and Thea immediately got out of there.

Thea quickly took a thousand steps away from Duke. And Duke just stared at her departure with a surprised look.

Thea quickly went into her room and locked the door. She paced the room while biting her lip. And that was a sign that Thea was in trouble.

Thea sat on the bed and held her head.

"I miss him so much. But I can't touch him," Thea whispered in frustration.

"What am I supposed to do? I shouldn't feel this way. But I can't shake this feeling. I really miss him," Thea murmured angrily and the woman lay down on the bed.

In the end, Thea fell asleep without changing her clothes. Meanwhile, Alice didn't come home all night until the morning.

In the morning, Thea immediately woke up and took a shower and changed the clothes she had brought yesterday. This time she wore casual clothes and then she went to the restaurant because her colleagues were gathering at the restaurant for breakfast.

"Thea, come here," Alice shouted from the direction of the restaurant.

Thea looked around fearing that there was a Duke there because Alice was calling her so loudly.

And she breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see Duke there.

"Did you go there last night?" asked Duke.

"I had a great time," Alice replied with a mischievous smile.

"Ah yes, you know what, Thea? There was Mr. Duke Delmar at the bar last night. He was so hot," Alice babbled.

"Hmm, what was he doing there?" asked Thea trying to act nonchalant and casual despite the fact that she was dying to know what Duke was doing at the club.

"He met a beautiful woman. Looks like they're friends. They look very familiar," Alice replied.

Thea was a little unhappy to hear what Alice said. But wasn't that also her wish? To tell Duke to forget her?

"Thea, we will still be here for two days. Our university is going on a tour with the donors. I hope I will be chosen to accompany Mr. Duke," Alice said enthusiastically.

"Is that so? Hopefully I won't be chosen and can return to teaching as soon as possible," Thea replied.

"You're strange. When many employees want the opportunity, you don't want it," Alice said in surprise as she ate her breakfast.

"This is where you get the chance to get to know these billionaires. Our careers can be helped by them if we can win their hearts," Alice said enthusiastically.

"I can't curry favor, Alice. It's not in my nature," Thea replied.

"Oh my, it's up to you," Alice said resignedly.

On the other side of the restaurant, Duke was seen having breakfast with his parents at the resort restaurant.

"Duke, are you okay with being here a little longer? The company business here is quite complicated, so I need you to take care of it," Dean said.

"Hmm, no problem, Dad," Duke replied casually.

Actually, Duke rarely took care of the company in Canada. Usually there was already a confidant of his daddy here. It was just that Dean's trusted assistant was on an assignment to Japan.

After breakfast, all the organizers were called by Mr. Edward to gather at the resort hall.

Mr. Edward gave each person a donor assistance task.

And Thea was relieved that she was not in charge of assisting Duke, as well as Alice.

Instead, Duke was accompanied by Rob, his colleague. Even though the female employees really wanted to be able to accompany Duke on this campus tour.

They then returned to their respective rooms to look at the documents given by Mr. Edward that had to be studied regarding the donors.

"Thea, wait," Rob called.

Thea turned to Rob.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Well, I have to accompany Mr. Edward to campus so I left Mr. Dalmer's documents with you for a while. I'll get them back later," said Rob.

"Hmm, okay," Thea replied hesitantly.

"I'll call you later," Rob said, hurrying away after handing the documents to Thea.
