It's time for a rematch against the flame Triceratops. I went to where I last saw the blind flame triceratops and it was still there. A Triceratops stands on four legs so its weakest part would be its belly which is in the shadows. It doesn't matter if narcotic spears don't work on it as long as it dies. I used the Shadow portal to teleport 10 spears from my location to the shadow of the Triceratops' belly.
The Triceratops realised this but it was too late. It was impelled by all the spears and died in pain. This could have been a different story if it was not blind and saw me send the spears through the portal. The knowledge skill activated notifying me that there is a core inside the body of the Triceratops after I looked at its corpse.
I upgraded all my tools to iron tools and obtained some new tools this past month. I used an iron knife to cut open its body and took its core out. The core was orange and round. I used analysis and figured out that this is a flame orb.
It is used for crafting battle gears like weapons or armour that have a flame affinity. I was going to put it inside my inventory but a notification popped up saying "A flame orb detected, do you want to absorb the flame orb? " I didn't understand it at first glance but when I looked at the word absorb I immediately understood what to do next.
I looked at my absorption skill just in case and I found out that this was the new feature that was unlocked. This feature allows me to absorb elemental orbs or any other elemental crafting materials and allows me to pick between 2 options. 1- Increase my mana based on the rarity of the material. The rarity is divided into common, rare, epic and legendary which give 1, 2, 5 and 10 mana stat points each.
2- I can gain the element of the absorbed elemental crafting material. If I already have the element then I can choose to strengthen the chosen option like shadow portal or choose to pick a different option which I can only unlock after a certain mastery like shadow step.
Since I don't have a flame element I chose the second option and I was faced with 3 more options.*sighs* How many options do I have to go through. 1-Flame wall- allows the user to construct a flame wall which blocks incoming elemental attacks. The radius is 1m.
2- Fireball- a basic attack spell which deals 150 per cent of your intelligence as damage and has a 15 per cent chance for your opponent to be affected With the 'burn' status effect.
3-Flame infusion- gives you 200 per cent resistance to heat and flame-type attacks. You can infuse flame into your hands and attack others. It will deal damage combined with your strength and intelligence stat. It has a 20 per cent chance to burn your enemy and a 5 per cent chance to burn yourself.
If I had to pick it would be between flame wall and fireball. Flame infusion requires 2 different stats to deal damage and I am a long-range user so it has no use for me. My shadow portal can only teleport items so I cannot teleport fireballs with it. It would be nice if it was possible.
The best option I could think of is a flame wall. I can attack for long-range using the shadow portal and if anybody gets close to me I will fry them with my flame wall. This is starting to get interesting.
