Good Place

Chapter 24: Good Place

After exiting Space, Merine seemed very excited. Zhao Hai noticed that the sound of a long-drawn-out sigh interrupted his train of thought. He turned his head to look and saw Merine. Merine was also gazing at the seven-colored mist, and her mouth let out a long sigh. She said, "Such a captivating scenery, something anyone would desire. However, this Seven-colored Poisonous Mist is the biggest obstacle in Carrion Swamp. According to records, fewer than ten people have survived after entering this Seven-colored Poisonous Mist. And even those who do manage to come out are all experts on the continent. Despite their expertise, their lifespan is reduced to around five years upon exiting the mist. No matter how powerful the priests or medicine masters, they are unable to save them."

Zhao Hai felt a chill down his spine as he looked at the mist. The bright seven colors seemed strange, as if it contained countless malevolent spirits, all smiling menacingly at him.

Not daring to look any longer, Zhao Hai waited for Blockhead and said, "Lead the way." Blockhead nodded in response and continued walking forward.

They walked from the summit towards the back of the iron mine. It was quite peculiar, as the grass at the front of the mine appeared malnourished, while the grass at the back of the mountain was lush green, vibrant with life. However, it didn't grow like the grass at the front. Instead, it formed small clumps, with patches of wool-like growths sprouting from its tops, as if infected with a fungal infection.

Merine walked alongside Zhao Hai and Blockhead and said, "Young Master, Blockhead, be careful not to touch these grass. They might be poisonous. Blockhead's strong body may not be affected, but Young Master, because of drinking the Water of Nothingness, should avoid contact with these things."

Zhao Hai was taken aback. Although he felt that Merine was making a fuss, he didn't dare to take it lightly. Carrion Swamp was dangerous, and caution was necessary.

They carefully bypassed the grass and followed Blockhead for about 500 meters until they reached a small cave. The cave wasn't very big, only allowing three people to pass through at once. It was about two meters high, and the inside seemed dark, accompanied by the sound of water.

Merine stepped forward and conjured a light ball in her hand, illuminating the path ahead for Zhao Hai. She gestured for him to enter the cave together.

Upon entering, they could see that the cave was the same ore as the Dwarves had described. It was neatly constructed with smooth stone.

After walking for about five minutes inside the cave, they reached an open area. It seemed to be a temporary resting place or storage area for the Dwarves. No one had been living in this particular cave. It was just a 300-square-meter open space. The sound of water came from their right.

Blockhead turned to Zhao Hai and said, "Young Master, the lake on the mountainside is over there. I wonder if it connects to the mountain valley behind our castle. If we head left, we should be able to enter that mountain valley."

Zhao Hai nodded. He didn't go to investigate the lake in the mountain. Based on his estimation, the water in this lake might be connected to the water source behind their castle. However, without proper illumination tools, even if they looked, they wouldn't be able to see anything significant. So, it was best not to waste time on it.

The two of them followed Blockhead as he led the way to the left through the ore path. The path to the left was wide, allowing ten people to walk side by side. It was five meters high, and the ground was dry, making it comfortable to walk on.

After about ten minutes, they suddenly came across a bright area ahead. Merine extinguished the light ball in her hand, and she and Zhao Hai proceeded towards the illuminated spot together, taking cautious steps.
