Testing the New Function

Chapter 86: Testing the New Function

The Magic Staff appeared in Zhao Hai's hand, and immediately, a prompt from the Space sounded, "Ghost Staff can automatically extend or reduce its length, with a maximum of five meters and a minimum of 0.5 meters. It can emit light in dark environments and has access to all Space functions."

Zhao Hai was taken aback. He hadn't realized that the Magic Staff had such an effect. This was a pleasant surprise indeed.

Although the first two functions didn't have much use for Zhao Hai, something was better than nothing. As for the appearance of the Magic Staff, Zhao Hai was quite satisfied.

Zhao Hai turned his head to look at the screen and selected the store icon. The store page appeared, and the first items listed were ordinary seeds. Zhao Hai quickly skimmed through them, realizing that in addition to the original plants in the Space, there were now many unique plants from Ark Continent available. He glanced upward and noticed the decoration category.

Zhao Hai selected the decoration option, and a page displaying various dwellings appeared on the screen. It reminded him of playing games, with rows of pictures representing different types of houses.

Zhao Hai examined the pictures carefully. Each picture had a price listed below it. It seemed that just like in a game, he would have to spend money to use these backgrounds.

As Zhao Hai looked through the pictures, he noticed that some of them could be purchased with gold coins. There was a small villa-type house that he had used in his game before. There were also pictures of a railing and a kennel. However, there were three types that Zhao Hai couldn't use. He decided to purchase a picture of a house with his gold coins and started decorating it.

After selecting the decoration button, Zhao Hai felt a slight vibration around him. Then, everything around him was enveloped in a layer of white light.

When the white light dissipated, Zhao Hai was shocked. Instead of sitting on a small stool, he found himself sitting on a sofa. The sofa was placed in a spacious living room, with an area of over 20 square meters. He was sitting in the middle of the living room, surrounded by a set of sofas. There was a large sofa that could accommodate five people and two smaller ones on the sides, each seating one person. The floor was covered with a carpet, and a tea table stood in the center. The tea table was made of cherry-red wood and looked quite attractive. In the direction of the large sofa, there was a 42-inch screen, which was currently turned off. On the tea table, there was a remote control-like device.

Zhao Hai stood up from the sofa and looked around. The house was indeed quite large. Besides the living room, there were two bathrooms, a hot spring room, a storage room, a kitchen, a dining room, and two guest rooms on the ground floor.

Upon inspecting the bathrooms, Zhao Hai found that they were equipped with modern fixtures, including toilets, bathtubs, adjustable hot and cold showerheads, washbasins, and large mirrors. The kitchen was fully equipped, suitable for cooking both Chinese and Western cuisine. The restaurant had a long table that could seat eight people, with a few ordinary landscape paintings hanging on the walls.

The hot spring room was relatively simple, with small stones on the floor that provided a massage effect. It had an area of about five square meters and was furnished with a stone seat for resting. The walls were adorned with ceramic tiles.

The storage room contained all the daily necessities one would find in an ordinary home, from basins to buckets, brooms to mops. What caught Zhao Hai's attention were the five ironing boards and an electric iron.

The guest rooms were relatively simple, each containing a bed, a wardrobe, two bedside tables with desk lamps, and two sofas near the windows. The guest rooms had the same layout.

This was only the ground floor, covering an area of about 200 square meters. Zhao Hai went up the stairs to the second floor, which was different from the first floor. The second floor didn't have a living room or a kitchen. Besides a bathroom, there were only five bedrooms. Four of them had a similar layout to the guest rooms on the first floor, while one of them had three 12-inch screens. The rest of the rooms were similar to the first floor.

Zhao Hai returned to the living room and sat back on the sofa. He picked up the remote control-like device and examined its buttons. The buttons were simple, with the top row having an on/off button, the second row numbered one, two, and three, and below them was a circular button. Four arrow buttons were located around the circular button, and in the middle was an "OK" button. At the bottom was a smooth touch-screen panel.

Zhao Hai looked at the remote control and pressed the on/off button. The screen immediately lit up, displaying a desktop with several unchanged icons.

Zhao Hai pressed another button, and a voice came from the screen, saying, "You haven't set up a Transmission Point. Would you like to set one up now?" The screen displayed the same message. Zhao Hai responded with a simple "Yes." As soon as he spoke, the words on the screen disappeared, and a map appeared.

Zhao Hai was a little surprised as he looked at the map. He didn't understand what it meant until the prompt sounded again, saying, "Choose a Transmission Point this time."

Zhao Hai carefully examined the map and realized that it showed all the places they had traveled from Black Wasteland to their current location. It also showed the path to Card City, but everything beyond that was blank, covered in darkness.

A small white arrow appeared on the screen, similar to a computer mouse pointer. Zhao Hai was taken aback and looked at the touch-screen panel on the remote control in his hand. He gently swiped his finger on it, and the mouse pointer on the screen moved accordingly.

Zhao Hai couldn't help but smile. He hadn't expected that operating this device would be so simple. He carefully examined the map and aimed the pointer at Cyan Stone Villa, then selected it.

As expected, the prompt sounded again, saying, "First Transmission Point: Cyan Stone Villa. Is this correct?"

Zhao Hai nodded and replied, "Yes." The prompt confirmed, and a green dot appeared on Cyan Stone Villa on the map.

Zhao Hai quickly said, "Yes, set the second Transmission Point at Iron Mountain Castle." He wanted to test if he could control the screen with his voice.

Indeed, Zhao Hai was able to control the screen with his voice. As soon as he finished speaking, a green dot appeared on Iron Mountain Castle on the map. It didn't flicker and remained stable. At the same time, the prompt sounded, "Second Transmission Point: Iron Mountain Castle. Is this correct?"

Zhao Hai nodded and said, "Yes." The designated area for Iron Mountain Castle turned green and stopped blinking. The prompt then sounded again, "Second Transmission Point: Iron Mountain Castle. Confirmed. Would you like to set up a third Transmission Point?"

Zhao Hai stared at the screen for a moment and shook his head, saying, "No, do not set it up." The prompt disappeared.

The screen returned to the desktop, and Zhao Hai pressed another button. The mountain chart of Stony Mountain appeared on the screen, centered on his current location. The holographic representation had a diameter of 500 meters, covering almost the entire Stony Mountain.

Zhao Hai's finger moved on the screen, and he first selected the courtyard of the manor. The image of the courtyard immediately appeared, accompanied by a clicking sound. Zhao Hai was taken aback and looked around, but he didn't find anything making the sound. He then turned his attention back to the screen, where the Stonehead/stone they used for pounding could be seen moving in sync with their movements, accompanied by the clicking sound.

A smile appeared on Zhao Hai's face. The monitor previously had no sound, so he hadn't expected that it would suddenly have sound now. It was a pleasant surprise.

Next, Zhao Hai pressed two more buttons, and the picture on the screen changed to show the castle. It was similar to what he had seen before, but the range was even larger. He could now see the surroundings of the castle, not just within the castle walls.

Zhao Hai cheered happily and then pressed the "OK" button. The prompt sounded again, asking, "Do you want to switch to the second Transmission Point?"

Zhao Hai nodded and said, "Yes." He impatiently pressed the button, holding the Magic Staff and intending to move out of Space.

When he emerged from Space, Zhao Hai found himself standing in his bedroom in Iron Mountain Castle. He cheered, then rushed to the window and opened it, revealing a panoramic view of the castle. Although everything was covered in Black Soil, it looked delightful at this moment.

Zhao Hai leaned against the window, laughing. Space's new function was truly powerful, more powerful than anything else. It allowed him to travel from Stony Mountain to Iron Mountain Castle in an instant.

After calming down for a bit, Zhao Hai intended to return to Space and start clearing the Ranch.
