Chapter 48: Amadeus's Head-pat Kill_1

Outside the police station.

Alfred Garland was driving the car, with an outstandingly handsome man seated inside—deep-set facial features sculpted in relief, and with the car window rolled down, he rested an arm on it, the Buddhist beads on his wrist visibly eye-catching, like a resting lion exuding a sense of dignity and power in every move.

"Oh." Amadeus Yancey seemed not at all surprised. Seeing her get in the car, he had the car window rolled up and instructed Alfred, "Head to Audrick Zachmann's villa."

"Yes, Amadeus."

The car started slowly.
