Jane Bailey was taken into the police station that day, and Alfred Garland immediately passed the news to Amadeus Yancey.
Amadeus Yancey didn't say much. He made a phone call to the McKinney City Police Station and simply uttered two words, "Severe punishment."
The city police station then held Jane Bailey in a juvenile correctional facility that very day, awaiting the Procuratorate to follow through with judicial procedures, and denied all requests to visit her in detention.
Although the Bailey family were locals of McKinney, their financial situation was average at best. Jane's father had passed away early, leaving only a mother at home.
Upon hearing about the incident at her school, she fainted on the spot and was hospitalized.
By the time she regained consciousness, her daughter had already been taken to the detention center.
