Nathalie Quinlan knew he was stubborn and didn't waste words with him, saying succinctly, "If you won't tell me, I can find out. It'll just take a little more time. Also, if you don't tell me, I'll tell Aunt Cagwin about the beating you got in here, which she probably doesn't know about, right?"
Freddy Cagwin suddenly lifted his head, his swollen eyes looking toward her, biting his lip and inhaling sharply, "Don't, don't say anything."
Nathalie held a bit of a bandit air, her eyebrows raised, calmly looking at him, "If you don't want me to tell your mom, then you tell me who did it."
After a few seconds of staring into her eyes, Freddy Cagwin admitted defeat.
He said dejectedly, "Nathalie, can't you just let this go? I'm already in this state, I don't want to drag you into it."
"Whether I'm dragged into it or not is my business, and I don't think it's an imposition if I say so."
