No. 1 Middle School Principal's office was overcrowded.
Nearly every first-tier university had gathered at No. 1 Middle School, with recruitment officers from dozens of schools cramming the office so tightly there was hardly room to move.
The Director of Instruction and the Principal both were too busy to attend to everyone.
Finding a brief respite amidst the chaos, Mr. Jones hurriedly asked, "Has Nathalie Quinlan not arrived at the school yet?"
The Director of Instruction, exhausted as well, shook his head, "She hasn't come."
He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a helpless expression and said quietly, "I arranged with the head teacher of Class A, Mr. Sullivan, to contact Student Quinlan. If she arrives, he'll give me a phone call, but since I haven't received a phone call yet, she must not be here."
He had thought about calling Nathalie Quinlan himself to hurry her along.
