Tris hurries out of the palace to meet up with Nigel. Her lessons with Granny Nora went late today and it put her behind. Ember was hyper, her wings having finally broken through the night before. Tris was happy for her, but even the oils hadn’t helped with the itching. 


“The lumps on her back need to heal up and she will be fine,” Amethyst explained when Tris approached her about the problem. 


As the day progressed, the itching had subsided and Ember was eager to use her new appendages. Amethyst was a huge help in explaining this growth milestone to Tris. It will be a couple of weeks before Ember’s wings are strong enough to carry her weight. Right now, the flaps are thin and tiny.


Ember has spent the day flapping her wings while running around the palace. Once they finished their lesson for the day, Ember asked to stay behind while Tris goes to meet Nigel.
