I stood in front of my mirror wearing the gown Robin had gotten me. He had a special evening planned for his goddess and I wanted to make sure I looked my part. I was experimenting with different pieces of jewelry I’d been gifted recently; necklaces, broaches, and rings, most of them gaudy but appreciated.
Just as I settled on a silver locket encrusted with sapphires there was a knock on my front door. Smiling to myself, I went to answer it expecting it to be Robin, our driver, or another of my subjects I hadn’t met yet.
To my pleasant surprise, it was Linc outside my door, now wearing a light jacket over her cheerleader’s uniform.
Linc raised an eyebrow as she looked me over. “I can see being mistaken for a goddess does come with advantages,” she commented.
I let my smile grow. “I’m happy to see you too, Linc,” I told her. “Come on in.” I stepped to the side to make room for her.
