Chapter 47: Delusions

The last thing I remembered was seeing the van door close. Even though my entire body hurt, the pain in my head was different, and suggested I had been knocked out. I’d woken up with a bag over my head, so I didn’t know where I was, but I figured I wouldn’t like it when I found out.

The bag was pulled off and I was proven right immediately.

I blinked a few times as my eyes adjusted. When they did, I found myself duct taped to a chair in a brightly lit, opulent room. Standing in front of me was none other than Robin Heath.

“I’d say you’re the light of my life, but I kind of hate you,” I told him.

Robin made a huffing sound that might have been a laugh. “Do you really think this is the time and place for a joke?” he asked me.
