Our First Victory

Raymond: Welcome to Break Point. This will be your new home now.

Kyle: ...

Raymond towered above Kyle looking down on him. Kyle was looking up at Raymond. They were in an all-white room with a single metal door.

Raymond: [A child his age should have eyes filled with light and wonder. What a shame it is.]

Kyle had no light in his eyes. They looked dead and dark.

Raymond: I heard what they had to do to catch you. You and your sister were a real ... problem for a while. You would've been a great help to Break Point. Not to mention that your sister was a normal person too. I hear she was very smart too. Your sister was able to build things that should be impossible for her too. We are even using some of her blueprints to help us build all sorts of things as we speak.

Kyle: ...

Raymond: Not much of a talker huh?

Raymond scratched his chin, walked over to Kyle, and patted his back.

Raymond: You know, you would make a good professor.

Kyle clinches his fist.

Raymond: Yes, it wasn't too long ago when I was a normal person. I had a nice home and kind parents, I ate every day, and I had a good life. But there was a hole in my heart. Break Point filled that hole.

Kyle looked down at the ground. A vein appeared on his forehead.

Raymond: Yes, it is a shame about your sister. She was so smart but so foolish. I don't think she would want you to follow in her footsteps. I mean after all if you do, that will just whine up in you dying and I don't think you would want that. That is the fate of anyone who opposes Break Point. So why not just side with us and become a professor?

Raymond's eyes light up and he smiles.

Raymond: I know I can train you here. With your sisters' lessons and your abilities, I think we can use you in the technological advancements department. And if not that one the programming or hacking department could definitely find a use for you.

Kyle: Shut up.

Raymond: Hm?

Kyle looks back at Raymond. The emptiness that filled his eyes before was now replaced by something else.

Hatred

This was the strongest emotion that Kyle has ever felt up to this point in his life. He almost hated Raymond as much as he hated the woman that took his beloved sisters' life. This was the strongest feeling that was possible for Kyle. This was a deep, indescribable, blood-curdling, passionate, ire rage that Kyle would feel no matter how many years would pass.

Kyle: You disrespected every brave person that stands up against Break Point, you take your good life for granted when there are people like me out there struggling, you steal my sister's work and pass it off as your own, and worst of all you call my sister a fool. I don't think I have found anyone this-

Kyle grabbed his forehead his anger boiling. He struggled to find the word to describe Raymond perfectly.

Kyle: -pathetic.

Raymond: Pathetic?

Kyle: Yes ... that is the perfect word to describe someone like you. Someone who calls someone foolish without even knowing what they have had to go through. Someone who probably hasn't even seen what it is like to have a terrible life but speaks about it like they are an expert. Someone who tries to bring others to his side without knowing what his side has done to them. An inconsiderate, hideous, idiot. Just how pathetic can you be?

Raymond smiles and walks over to the door.

Raymond: Let us proceed forward.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kyle continues to run in the cold. He just left Rachel to fight off Hank and Nicolas by itself. Even though Sarah told him how capable the gigantic stuffed toy was before he commenced his plan, he still had doubts. He had no idea if Rachel would be able to keep up with the both of them working together. For all he knew they were both on their way to get the both of them already.

Kyle: [Gio...]

Even with everything going on Kyle has not forgotten about the boy that was residing inside of Rachel. He felt much guilt for leaving Gio behind and much fear for him. Kyle felt so scared for Gio that it felt like he would collapse. A part of him questioned if they really needed to leave him behind. His mind raced for possibilities that would've allowed him to bring Gio without storing him inside of Rachel.

Kyle: [Maybe if I would've just talked to him, I could've convinced him to come with us.]

The guilt that Kyle was feeling wouldn't let him think. Kyle wouldn't forgive himself for leaving Gio behind, He wouldn't forgive himself for leaving him in danger. Sarah begins to cough. Her cough sounds weak and shaky. Kyle can feel her shivering on his back.

Kyle: I know, I know. We are almost done.

Hank: KYLE!!

Kyle turns around and through the snow, he sees a red light. He throws Sarah to his side and tries to run out of the way himself, but he is too slow. A loud explosion happens below him. He was blown to his stomach. His ears were ringing, and his vision was blurry. His vision began to slowly get better. He turned himself over on his back. He saw the silhouette of a man standing over him.

Kyle: Hank?

The man spoke but Kyle couldn't hear him straight because of his ringing ears. Kyle tries to focus but the only words that he hears were ...

???: Save them, Kyle.

It was now clear to Kyle that whoever this silhouette was wasn't Hank. He racked his brain trying to figure out who this person could possibly be. All of a sudden, a need came to him. A need that overpowered his curiosity. He needed to say something.

Kyle: I will, without a doubt in my mind. I will save them from this place.

Kyle blinked and the Silhouette was gone. However, his hearing and vision also went back to normal. He then started to hear footsteps in the snow.

Hank: You killed my best friend.

With his vision and hearing restored Kyle also found that he had much more energy than before as well. He sits up and sees that his left leg had severe burns all over it. However, after seeing the sight he couldn't help but notice that he felt no pain in his leg. He wondered if all of this was the work of the man that he saw just moments earlier.

Hank: Pay attention to me you piece of shit.

Hank kicks Kyle in the nose with all of his might. Kyle lands back on his back. Blood pours out of his nose. Kyle moves his eyes to look back at Hank curious as to what he was going to hit him with next. But instead of seeing him getting ready for another attack, Kyle sees Hank crying.

Kyle: Tears?

Hank: Obviously.

Hank's voice cracked and faltered. He tried to wipe the tears away with his hands and lab coat sleeve.

Hank: Of course, you wouldn't understand.

Hank walks over to Kyle and grabs him by the neck of his one-piece and pulls him up. Hank begins to repeatedly punch Kyle in the nose.

Hank: NONE OF YOU ROUGES FEEL FOR YOUR ALLIES! ALL OF THE PEOPLE YOU MEET ARE JUST PAWNS TO YOU, AREN'T THEY?! A PERSON LIKE YOU COULD AND WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY I CRY FOR MY FRIEND! EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE JUST SCUM THAT WE NEED TO EXTERMINATE! I HATE ALL OF YOU! THE PEOPLE THAT TOOK MY ONLY FRIEND AWAY! THE PEOPLE THAT TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME! KILLING YOU IS A REWARD! AT THE END OF THE DAY, YOU WILL CARE ABOUT NO ONE AND NO ONE WILL CARE ABOUT YOU!

Kyle: Y-You are wrong.

Kyle struggled to speak because of the blood, bruises, and bumps that were now on his face because of Hank's punches.

Hank: What?

Kyle: There is nothing that I wouldn't do for them.

Kyle struggled to get the words out. Hank let go of Kyle.

Hank: THAT CHANGES NOTHING, YOU STILL KILLED MY FRIEND, YOU STILL KILLED GUARDS THAT HAD FAMILIES, AND NOW YOU ARE AT THE END OF YOUR LUCK! LAYING BRUISED AND DEFEATED!

Hank pulls his light out and flicks it on. The fire from the lighter travels into Hank's other hand and begins to spread across his arm. It appeared as if his arm was lit on fire. Kyle's right eye was swollen shut. Kyle looked at Hank as he lifted his arm above his head.

Hank: YOU LOST!

Kyle: No.

Hank then notices multiple humming noises. Hank realizes too late what the sounds are. He looks up towards the top of the tall white wall and sees multiple blue lights through the snow. However, those lights weren't what he is focused on. Hank was looking directly in front of him. In front of Hank was a big white gate. The exit that Kyle has been looking for all night. Hank looks back down at Kyle ready to burn him alive before the torrents can finish charging up. But he notices that Kyle is no longer pinned down below him. He looks to his side seeing Rachel with Kyle and Sarah in its arms.

Kyle: I win.

Before Hank can say anything, the torrents begin to shower down blue lights on Hank. When the shower of blue lights stop Rachel runs over to the gate.

Kyle: Open up.

The gate starts to move upwards. Without even letting the gate fully open Rachel slides under it and runs into the cold night. With everyone being safe and sound.

Freedom

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A woman in doctor's attire is walking down an all-white hallway. She comes up to a door and knocks. The door slides open, and she walks inside. The room was dark but there was a blue light emanating from the middle of the room.

Woman: A hologram call?

??: Raymond, you absolutely disappoint me.

The doctor stops dead in her tracks and trembles. The voice of this person alone was filling her with an indescribable, overpowering dread. It was so powerful that when the woman heard the voice she instinctively looked down at the ground.

Raymond: I know sir I deeply apologize.

??: Why did I even take you under my wing? Why did I even promote you if you are just going to go behind my back like this? This is the first you tell me of this plan you have. And this plan doesn't change the fact that this is your first night with your assistants and you allow three prisoner's escape. This is truly disgraceful.

Raymond: Please put a little trust in me sir, this is a blessing in disguise. In due time Giovanni Alvarez and Sarah Johnson will become amazing, respectable, and powerful people. And they will side with Breaking Point. They just need to go through the right experiences.

??: You better be right. I will not hear about an event like this again from you Raymond. If those two do not live up to the standards that you hold them to, I will hold you responsible.

Raymond: Yes sir.

???: To think that you lost to someone that is so much younger than you. I don't know if he is expressive or if you are pathetic. I hope I wasn't wrong to promote you, Raymond. Never disappoint again.

The hologram disappears and the dark room automatically starts to brighten up.

Raymond: Did you need something?

The woman looks back up, looking directly into Raymond's yellow eyes.

Woman: Hank and Nicolas are stable. They will both live.

Raymond: Good. You are dismissed.

The woman turns and walks out of the door. The door closes behind her.

The man's voice echoed in Raymond's head.

??: "If those two do not live up to the standards that you hold them to, I will hold you responsible."

Raymond: It is true that those two will grow up to be possibly some of the most dangerous people in the world. But that doesn't change the fact that today isn't about them. Today I lost to you and you alone Kyle Castle.

YOU WON FAIR AND SQUARE
