I've never really liked social events especially since I was forced to attend so many by my parents. Mom often threw lavish parties and charity events where my siblings and I would attend with forced smiles on our faces.

Shawn would steal alcohol and get shit face drunk only at 18 years old. His drinking problem was the reason mom stopped hosting such parties and the reason why Shawn became so serious.

"Nick!" A man approaches us with pink hair and a huge smile on his face. He was around the same age as Nick and I he gives Nick a bear hug.

"You're killing me Hoshi!"

"My love for you is that strong."

"Whatever let go!"

Hoshi releases Nick turning to me. "You must the woman that made my friend lose his sanity." He extends his hand to me. "I'm Hoshi, his best friend."

"I'm Samantha. You can call me Sam." I shake his hand.

"I can see why he had to marry you...you're gorgeous." He makes me blush effortlessly.

"Thank you..."

Nick cuts in. "That's enough flirting Hoshi." Nick smiles at me. "Sammy, this idiot is my best friend since I got here...he has my back no matter what."

Hoshi rolls his eyes playfully. "Don't get all emotional on us. We are at a party."

"Charity event." Corrected Nick.

"Whatever! Anyways Sam. I hope we can get to see more of each other from now on."

"Yes I hope so too."

"Well please do excuse me. I have women to entertain." He winks before walking away.

"He looks like tons of fun." I say to Nick.

"Yeah. Hoshi is a party animal but an excellent lawyer."

"Wow. I did not expect him to be a lawyer at all."

"You'll be surprised at what Hoshi is able to do." Nick speaking so fondly of his friend puts a smile on my face. I like that he is such a loving person.

"What's that smile about?" He asked. I quickly stop smiling before answering him.

"Oh...It's nothing."

He laughs before moving closer.

"Shall we leave?" Nick says against the skin of my cheek giving me chills.

"Are you sure we can?"

"Yea. I already gave our donation and we've seen everyone we need to see."

I felt someone's eyes burning into us so out of curiosity I turn to see who it was. Sana stood with a few other people starring at us. Her gaze met mine so she gives me a soft smile.

I turn to Nick. "Let's go." I take his hand really wanting to get out of there.

He leads me out of the party making sure no one bumped into me. As soon as we get outside the cold air hits me, Noticing this

Nick takes off his jacket placing it over my shoulders.

I hear people talking louder and cameras flashing but decide to ignore them.

"Stay warm and don't get sick." He hugs me giving me his warmth. "The driver will be here in a sec."

I look up at him. "Can we go for a walk? I feel like I haven't been outside like this in forever."

"Sure." He takes my hand and leads me elsewhere. We walk for awhile in silence and even shockingly the press didn't follow us.

"Where are we going?"

"There's this park my mom used to take my sister and I."

"Sister?"

I never knew Nick had a sister, I thought he was an only child.

"Yea...she had a different dad."

"Oh..." Why is he talking in the past tense? Is his sister gone? I don't think I should ask.

"She died four years ago." He tells me, voice full of agony.

"I'm sorry Nick."

"You didn't kill her. Don't be sorry...She was in a car accident."

I stop walking. "Nick. I didn't know but...I know how it feels to lose someone you love..."

"It's been years now Sammy. I'm over it...so is mom."

I hug him tightly knowing just because he claims to be over it doesn't mean he's over it. You can't ever be over someone you love that died. It's a constant pain.

Nick suddenly pulls away leaving me confused.

"Let's go. I have something to show you." He tells me intertwining our hands again.

"Okay but where are you taking me?"

"It's a secret...for now."

"If you say so."

We walk for awhile until we reached a park.

"A park?"

Nick laughs. "You look disappointed."

"I wasn't expecting this." I tell him honestly.

"This is where my mom brought Nicole and I to play when we visited Japan when we were kids...although we grew up in Seattle mom wanted us to never forget where we came from."

"That's a beautiful thing."

He walks over to a bench taking a seat. "Come. Let's sit here for abit."

Not hesitating I sat beside him. Nick instantly holds my hand.

"There's no press...you don't have to hold my hand." I tell him unsure If I really wanted him to let go of my hand.

"It's cold. I'm keeping your hands warm." He said smiling.

"That's so sweet of you." I sarcastically say.

"Why can't you appreciate a gesture of a kind man?" He teased back.

"Well fine then." I hold his hand tighter. "Keep my hands warm."

He kisses my hands holding them close to his chest. I could feel his heart racing almost as much as mine was.

"Nick you-" The sound of thunder shocks me as I didn't think it would rain.

"Shit. It's going to rain soon." Nick didn't even finish his sentence when it suddenly began pouring.

We both got up running for shelter whilst laughing. Nick tried to shield me from the rain with his arms but I still got drenched.

"Nick! It's too late, we are both drenched!"

"You're absolutely right. Now we only have one thing to do!"

"What?"

Nick pulls me closer holding me in a ball dancing position. "We shall dance in the rain!"

"Nick! We'll get sick!"

"No we won't!"

I couldn't argue with him anymore so I gave in and followed his lead. Nick twirled me around, held me close to his body and picked me up bridal style spinning with me in his arms.

"Nick put me down I'm dizzy!" I beg him about to puke. Nick complied with my request whilst laughing.

Starring at him I got lost in his big doe eyes. Nick's dimples were on full display too.

"What's wrong?" He asked probably noticing my creepy starring.

I shake my head no. "Nothing..."

Nick places his hands on my cheeks. "You really look beautiful tonight."

He moves closer and closer making my breath hitch in the process. It seemed like he wasn't close enough although our noses were touching.

I closed my eyes waiting to feel his soft lips on mine when he suddenly lets go of me creating a huge distance between us.

"Nick?"

"Let's go. We'll get sick Sammy."

"But Nick."

"Come let's go." He starts walking away leaving me confused, embarrassed and most importantly hurt.
