Hoshi looks at me like I just murdered someone infront of him.

"Nick are you insane?"

"No."

"What do you mean you'll get her arrested?!"

"Samantha killed Nicole."

The silence after that is haunting.  It was like Hoshi's brain was no longer able to process everything.

He slowly gets up and grabs four cans of beer. Hoshi was probably in disbelief right now.

"...Nicole was in a car crash." He said in a low voice.

I decided to tell my best friend everything  from the beginning to my conversation with Sammy from earlier today.

For the first time Hoshi was completely speechless.  He was silently listening not even interrupting to ask me anything in between.

"Samantha being pregnant has thrown me into a temporary limbo but I won't stop my plans."

Hoshi gets up and to my suprise he punches me. I get up shocked.

"You idiot!" He yells.

"Why the hell-"

"Do you really think Samantha is capable of something so cruel?"

His question throws me off. Samantha was the other party involved in the accident but was not held accountable because my sister had alot of alcohol in her system.

"What are you saying!"

"I'm saying that you married this woman just for revenge and you don't even know for sure what happened that night." Hoshi calms himself abit.

"Nick, You have known her way longer than I have...do you think Samantha-"

"I didn't come here to listen to you take her side!"

"I'm just saying you need to be certain-"

"I hired private investigators!" I shout. "They were the one's that were able to confirm Samantha's father made sure the crash looked like my sister's fault!"

Hoshi's gaze fell to the ground. "This situation is messed up Kento." "I don't even know what to think."

"Everytime I look at Sammy and feel something other than hatred I feel like dying because it means I'm betraying my own sister."

Hoshi pats my back. "Nicole was a good person. She wouldn't want you to suffer like this."

"I know but what can I do now?"

"I just don't know why I feel like there's more to the story, otherwise why would she remain by your side knowing you want revenge?"

His words leave me questioning alot. Why did she stay by my side and continue being loving to me?

"Samantha is a simple woman with a kind heart but she has resilience like no one I've ever met."

"Maybe staying by your side is her way of saying she is fine with you getting revenge on her because she accepts her mistakes."

"Killing my sister is going to be the mistake she will pay fo dearly."

My heart got cold as the hatred I felt spread like venom. I still couldn't forget how Nicole looked when I had to go identify her body.

She looked unrecognizable. The once bubbly teen filled with love and warmth was a cold corpse covered in bruises.

Hoshi wasn't there so I don't expect him to understand anything. He didn't have to hug his dead sister and beg her to come back knowing very well she could never return.

My feelings for Samantha will have to be forgotten because I will never forget what she and her family did to my sister.

My dear uncle is also going to have to pay for his sins. I will make sure to enjoy watching him get what he deserves.

I walk into the place I've never really considered as my home.

I had spent my life trying to make my grandfather warm up to me and acknowledge me as not only the heir of the Sakurada family but as his grandson too.

After my sister's death I did not care much about what he thought of me anylonger. I had only one mission after that.

"You're home late."

My already sour mood quickly worsened when Michael appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

"That is none of your concern."

He grins.

"You have grown up to be such a hostile person, " He pats me on the shoulder. "Your father would be so disappointed."

I grab him by his collar. "Don't talk about my father!"

"So should we talk about your sister instead?"

I punch him in the gut causing him to collapse in pain.

"I am not interested in your games!"

"Well, I actually enjoy our games very much." He looks up at me.

"I especially enjoy playing with your beautiful wi-"

Micheal doesn't get the chance to say more as I grab him and start beating the crap out of him.

He laughs menacingly enjoying the fact that I was falling for his stupid tricks.

"Kento!"

My aunt Mitsuki runs downstairs to her brother's aid. She shoves me roughly.

"What is wrong with you?!" She yells while making sure he was okay.

I was not phased by this. Aunt Mitsuki always made it clear who's side she was on fron the get go.

"I was the one who provoked him Mitsuki."

Michael licks his busted bottom lip.

"I shouldn't have tried to have a proper conversation with him."

I scoff.

"Don't put on an act now. It doesn't suit you."

"Kento you need to respect your elders!" Aunt Mitsuki yelled suddenly.  "What should I expect from someone raised by a woman like Meisa."

"Don't bring my mother into this!"

Michael slowly stood up.

"Kento here is correct. Let's just stop and forget everything."

"You are dying brother! Kento cannot continue treating you like this!"

My mother told me about his alleged cancer and I did not buy it. He was the type of person to do anything to get what he wanted.

"I am going to my room."

I decide to walk away before things got out of hand. Besides I was satisfied I was able to get a couple of hits in.

Arriving upstairs I stop infront of my bedroom door.

I had to always prepare myself mentally to face Sammy. My emotions always got messed up when I am around her.

I walk in the room greeted by an unexpected scene.

"Mom?"

She gets up stunned to see me. Her eyes are swollen indicating she had been crying earlier.

"My love," Sanmy gets up with a smile on her face. "Welcome back home."

She walks over to me giving me a tight embrace.

"I missed you Kento."

I couldn't stop looking at my mother because something did not feel right.

"I missed you too Sammy," "Mom, what are you doing here?"

She pulls away. "Your mother and I had a fun talk."

Sammy kept a smile on her face compared to mom who had a straight face.

"Good night you too."

Mom quickly walks out of the room fulling my concerns.

"Did you two argue about something?"

Sammy shakes her head, no.

"She was telling me about your childhood and got a little sad."

"...She gets like that sometimes, I guess it's nothing to worry about."

Sammy gets on her tippy-toes to plant a kiss on my lips.

"Are you tired?"

"Yes. I need a bath right away."

"Go on then, I'll go get you something to eat."

I kiss her forehead. "Thank you."

She smiles. "You're more than welcome."

As I  watch her walk out I was convinced she did something to my mother. I will find out what it is no matter what.
