Olivia then casts an illusion spell to look like a guard and it works!
She makes her way through the castle to the throne room. It is a massive room carved out of stone and ice.
The king sits atop a grand throne of ice, and on his throne is an enormous horn that is the one she has come to seek.
There are numerous armed guards standing at attention, but their weapons are all lowered, as if they knew she was coming. The king is awaiting her arrival.
She continues and walks near the throne and kneels before the king.
"King Heimdall, I have come to make a deal with you."
King Heimdall nods.
"A deal, you say? What kind of a deal? Speak, and make it quick." He asks, clearly tired of the charade.
She sees that he's quite an imposing figure. He is a giant, standing several feet taller than an ordinary man, and wielding a great hammer for a weapon.
His face is gaunt and harsh, and he seems to be quite the grim figure. The giant warriors standing around him seem to mirror his nature. It seems his guards take after him.
She takes off the necklace Loki gave to her and presents it to the king.
"I have here an ancient necklace that grants and amplifies the power of the owner that wears it. In exchange I would like to have the horn of Gullinkambi."
King Heimdall's face looks taken aback by the gift. He stands up, his face changing into a look of awe.
The guards, as one, all bow down as he takes the necklace. It is clear that he knows the power that it holds.
"Where did you get this?" He asks, shocked.
"This is one of the most important magical relics of Asgard. It is rumored to grant near god-like power to whoever holds it."
"I got it while on an expedition while in Asgard and stole it." She says, lying through her teeth.
"Why would you bring it here, mortal?" He asks, his eyes narrow again.
"Is this some sort of trick?" He asks, a look of suspicion forming on his face.
He places his hand on his hammer, as if it holds some kind of weapon that he may use to deal with her.
"If you're lying..."
His eye twitches.
"I will end you on the spot."
He leans forward now, imposing and menacing.
"So...are you lying?"
She shakes her head vigorously.
"No, my lord. I am a studier of ancient dark magic, and my only goal is to become one of the most powerful and known dark art users."
"The power that this relic holds could be disastrous in the wrong hands...I can't be sure of the intentions you have with it. What if you're just a dark arts enthusiast? How can I be sure that you're not a threat to the realm of the dead?" He asks in a sharp tone, his brow lowered.
The huge hammer in his hand grows heavier as the tension rises. It stands ready to come crashing down at the slightest provocation. He is a grim figure indeed.
"Tell me now...How do you know that you can be trusted with this power?"
Olivia exhales slightly before answering.
"I have no intention of harming you or your realm of the dead. I plan to use such powerful relic to amplify the dark art magic and create new, more formidable magic with it."
The king nods, considering the answer. He looks her dead in the eye now.
"I hope you are telling me the truth. You understand, I take a certain pride in my realm, and I want to ensure it is safe...So I hope you are to be trusted." He says.
He looks at the necklace one more time.
"Very well...I agree to this deal. You may take the Horn of Gullinkambi...But know...its power can be overwhelming. It is not for mortals, but I hope you are careful with its use."
Olivia kneels again before the king.
"I assure you with my life that I will take very special care of the horn of Gullinkambi."
He holds out the horn before her.
"Swear this on a holy oath, and it will be sealed with a powerful blessing."
He seems to be very serious and intense about this now.
She holds up her left hand while placing her right hand over her heart.
"I swear under the holy oath I will take special care of the horn of Gullinkambi."
"Then it is done. I now bestow upon you, Olivia, the horn of Gullinkambi. I charge you to only use its power for good and be wary of its dark power. Do you accept this charge?"
Olivia nods.
"Yes, my lord, I accept this charge."
The king gives her the horn, and looks over at the guards, who bow, showing their respect.
"I must say, you were very honest. I believe you when you say that you have no ill will, but understand, this horn can give anyone near divine power. Do not be seduced by its lure. You have my blessing to leave now." He says, his gaze still holding great intensity.
Olivia bows towards the king.
"Thank you, my lord. I will use its power only for the benefit of the dark arts."
She carefully places the horn in her bag before turning to leave.
She makes her way back out of the castle. She is relieved to be out of there, as it was a rather tense situation. But her heart jumps with joy as she walks away.
In her possession is the most powerful magical artifact of the realm of the dead, and its power is all hers.
One man could become a god with its power...or destroy the mortal world...
Now, will she use it for good or for evil?
The choice is all up to her.
