One day Olivia finally decides that it is time to fulfill a promise she made to Loki.
Her heart flutters just thinking of his name.
She feels a sense of admiration and gratitude because if it wasn't for him, she would not be the powerful dark demi-goddess that she is today.
She grins and goes to the Book of the Damned and flips through it to find the spell of immortality and writes it down. She puts the spell into her pocket and leaves her lab, returning to Asgard.
She approaches the gates of Asgard once more. This time, the guards recognize her.
The last time she was there, she had looked like a mere mortal. Now, she looks like a god herself.
They bow to her as she enters, recognizing her incredible power. She takes their praise as she walks past them.
She feels powerful…
She walks confidently through the halls of the castle until she reaches the throne where Loki is.
Loki sees her and immediately stands up. He looks at her and smiles, his face a mixture of both surprise and joy.
He speaks, his voice a mixture of pride and happiness.
"You have become...quite powerful… Are you the god I see before me, or is it my imagination?" He asks with a chuckle.
Olivia chuckles.
"No imagination here Loki. I know I look quite...different since our last encounter but I assure you I am still me.
"You look divine…" He says, an almost stunned look on his face.
"I... What is the power you've attained? You have a new necklace, but it holds great power. What is its secret?" He asks, an air of genuine interest and curiosity behind his words.
She blushes at his compliment as she explains.
"This necklace used to be the horn of Gullinkambi. It has returned to its original form which is ancient material created from the gods."
He sighs in disbelief, impressed.
"The horn of Gullinkambi? And its power was able to be placed into this necklace?" He asks surprised.
"You have done incredible things for that to be the case. You have truly advanced the Dark Arts even more. I congratulate you. This is...well, even I cannot comprehend the extent of what you have achieved." He says, his face full of pride.
She nods in agreement.
"Yes, it was a tough relic to decipher, but after long years with hours of translating I figured out how to harness its power."
He chuckles and nods.
"You have done well. I commend you again. You have advanced the dark arts further than anyone has ever done before. The power of this relic alone makes you as powerful as a god."
"I commend you, truly. Is there anything I can do for you? I am always in your debt for this incredible power." He says, offering her his hand.
She shakes her head.
"Actually, I should be asking you that question. If it wasn't for you sending me out on that quest, I wouldn't have the power I have now."
He nods.
"I understand. You surpassed my expectations on your journey. I am... very proud of you. If ever there is a favor you need, no matter the scope, I will be here to answer." He speaks.
He is almost in a state of awe, and it seems he is just recovering from what she has become.
"I... am very proud." He says, almost speechless.
"I will take you up on that favor if I ever need it."
She smiles as she takes a step closer to him.
"I have a question for you…"
"Of course, ask away." He says, still standing, looking a combination of happy and proud.
"What's your question?" He asks, his voice as soft as he can manage, which still exudes a very strong air of authority.
He gestures for her to come closer.
She gets closer and asks…
"Are you still looking for a way to beat your fate of Ragnarök?"
His face falls for a moment.
"Yes." He says, sorrowfully.
"I must. Ragnarök is...not something I wish to see come to pass. All will be lost, and all will fade away to nothing. I have lived under the shadow of its coming all my life. It is my greatest task...and greatest shame." He says, his shoulders sinking.
She nods with sympathy and puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Remember I told you I would have a surprise for you when I returned?"
He looks at her with an expression of confusion, his eyebrow cocked to the side.
"Really? What's your surprise?" He asks, curious.
She smiles and gestures to him.
"Do you mind standing in the middle of the room for me?"
He nods and moves into the middle of the room.
"You've got me curious." He says, he now has a bit of a sly grin on his face.
"Now, what's the surprise?" He asks, his eyes brightening with anticipation.
Olivia takes out the forbidden immortality spell and begins speaking it, using her newfound power to turn Loki immortal.
Loki gasps.
"You...you did it! You found the spell of immortality! And it works! I'm immortal!" He exclaims.
His face seems to glow with pride and joy.
The power of immortality is his! His mind begins to race with what this means.
He's immortal!
He will not perish in Ragnarök!
Olivia grins as she rips up the spell, throwing it in the lamp fire as she walks up to Loki.
"You like your surprise?"
Loki's smile drops slightly. His eyes grow dark, a look of pain flashes across his face for just a moment.
He sighs and nods before his smile recovers.
He is immortal... that can't be a bad thing, right?
He still has his duty and his honor. He can live forever to fulfill his duty and honor.
He smiles.
"Yes...you have given me a great gift. A gift that will allow me to live forever."
He walks up to her and takes her hands.
"I... I am forever in your debt for this."
Olivia blushes from the contact of him holding her hands as she shakes her head.
"No need for the debt, consider this being even with one another."
He smiles and brings his hands up to cup her face.
"Even, you say? I feel as though such a gift cannot be easily repaid. What if I were to...grant you a boon? One request I could grant you, to keep even with the gift you have granted me?"
Her face turns red and her breath hitches from his touch.
"S-sure. What boon do you wish to grant me?"
He smiles slightly.
"What is your heart's desire?" He asks.
"You have made me immortal...so, what is it you most desire?" He says, his voice soft as he leans in a little closer.
Olivia blushes and looks down, trying to think of an answer. Her heart begins to beat faster.
She practically has him in the palm of his hand. She can wish him to do anything her heart desires.
She could wish for more power… Her own army, money, or a legion of men to do her bidding.
But she has already fulfilled her life's dream and that was becoming the most powerful…
She really couldn't think of anything she wanted.
However, her mind began to race as she looks up at Loki, her heart beating even faster.
She realizes…
This is it!
This is the moment that she has been waiting for her entire life.
Ever since she came across Loki through texts, she was drawn to him.
The feeling that she could not explain nor shake has been building up to this very moment.
Now is the time to reveal it all…
