With her head bowed, and eyes closed, Ellie forced herself not to worry about where Storm had gone, or what he had gone to do.
Seated on the edge of the bed, she forced her mind to go blank. But try as she did, one thought refused to disappear. Elfin had suggested that he was being lied against. He even went as far as telling her he would provide proof. She didn't believe anything he said, but the thoughts wouldn't just leave her mind.
The slight creak of the door cut off her train of thoughts. She opened her eyes, and lifted her head, only to see that Storm had arrived, and he was staring at her.
His eyes were no longer red but the atmosphere around him was still stuffy and tense.
"You are back," Ellie stood up and walked to him, her eyes bearing questions her lips didn't utter.
