"Hush, my dear, don't make a sound,
Stars are twinkling all around.
Close your eyes and drift away,
Dreams will dance till break of day."
Ellie's voice filled the air as she slowly sang the lullaby for an already sleeping Nicholas. The boy was seated on her thighs in a straddling position, head on her chest, while she rocked her body back and forth as she sang.
The soft creak of the door pulled her attention toward that direction, and a relieved smile appeared on her face when she saw Storm walk in. She had not seen him the entire day and had been worried sick.
"I hope you'll put me to sleep this exact way too," Storm spoke, walking to her and dropping a kiss on her forehead.
"You're way bigger than I am. There's no way I can carry you on my thighs like this," Ellie answered.
