The Connection

It was the first time Elijah heard that Fabian was the leader of The Black Rose Society. Ansgar must have already known about this during their first meeting. He purposefully concealed this information while Elijah told him what he wanted to know about Lady Runa.

Elijah's breath became rapid as he clenched his fists. The exiled prince that he met back then was a feeble young man. He did not have the strength to brawl with Elijah one-on-one. 

Even though Elijah had never received proper training in the knighthood, his life on the street had taught him the basics and techniques to defend himself against various physical altercation scenarios.

The only thing that intimidated Elijah about Ansgar was the skilled fighters that seemed to follow him around everywhere. It was also his followers who beat him up when Elijah met with Yohana.
