Fly High

Lady Gabrielle brought Elisa to the parlor. She winked at Elisa before disappearing out the door. The door to the parlor was left open, seemingly on purpose. She could guess what Lady Gabrielle intended to do, but she wondered if this would be too much for Sir Karl.

He claimed that he still loved her, but what if his feelings for her had faded after he wrote the letter? What if he despised her now?

When Elisa was still dwelling on her fears, anxiety, and hope, someone entered the room.

"Elisa–I mean, Your Highness, what are you doing here?" Sir Karl had one of his legs in the room, while the other was outside.

It symbolized his attitude toward the relationship with Elisa. He didn't have the guts to break off their relationship in person, and he also didn't have the courage to take the leap of faith with her.
