Where it Hits

We all sat around the table, forming a circle. A few others joined, while I sat beside Jake, who had his face locked to his phone.

"This is how we're gonna start," Samantha said, standing at the center of the other end of the table. "I will spin the bottle, and whoever it lands on has to pick truth or dare. I decide which one they'll do." At this point, I was starting to have a bad feeling about this, which made me subconsciously clench my fist. If only Matilda were here right now.

"And what if we can't play our part?" Elizabeth asked as she sat beside Samantha. They were close friends, or at least I thought they were, as I saw them together most of the time. But then again, it's Samantha we're talking about; they were likely friends for show.

"I was getting to that," Samantha replied, gritting her teeth, which caused Elizabeth to pull back. She picked up one of the red cups in the air and smirked, saying, "They get a drink." Everyone cheered at her statement, but I could swear I saw Samantha glare at me for a quick second.

"If you don't feel comfortable, you don't have to play," someone whispered close to my ear.

"It's fine," I whispered back, even though I was visibly tense. He must have noticed, as he continued to stare at me for a few seconds, waiting for me to change my mind. Seeing that I still stood my ground, he looked away.

"Are you playing, Samantha?" I heard Elizabeth ask the pretty blonde girl.

"Of course, I am not. See me as the host. It's my party, after all." Elizabeth shrugged it off while Samantha filled the cups.

When she was done, she spun the bottle, and it landed on a boy. "Truth or dare?" Samantha asked.

"Dare, man," he responded, biting his bottom lip while rubbing his palm, anticipating the dare.

"I dare you," Samantha purred seductively, "to give us a little... striptease."

Everyone was stunned by this dare, and they shifted their attention to the guy. After hesitating for a moment, he stood in silence, contemplating his options. Then, with a grin, he stood up.

This guy began his 'striptease' by taking off his shirt, revealing a rather average physique. He moved awkwardly, trying to mimic a seductive dance, but it was so terrible that even I felt embarrassed for him. Strangely, he didn't seem to care, as people around the table laughed.

I watched Samantha roll her eyes, seemingly unimpressed. "That's enough," she said in a stern voice, causing him to stop. He put his shirt back on, and the room erupted in laughter. Even I couldn't help but let out a chuckle or two.

My gaze swept across the room when I noticed a familiar face in the distance, holding a cup and watching the game unfold.

It was Alex. It wasn't really much of a surprise seeing him here; he was already a popular figure, so things like this were expected. But the person sitting beside him caught my attention.

Beside him was Owen, who was also drinking from a cup. I could see Owen's lips moving as they appeared to be having a conversation. Alex's face shifted to mine, and he gave a smile with a small wave, which I returned to acknowledge his presence.

Samantha spun the bottle again, and this time it landed on a girl named Lilly, a quiet girl who had been sitting silently observing the game.

Samantha grinned at her. "Truth or dare, Lily?"

Sarah hesitated for a moment, her eyes darting around the circle, gauging everyone's reactions. Finally, she spoke softly, "Truth."

Samantha leaned in, her voice low with a sly smile, and asked. "Tell us, Lily," she began, "Did you hook up with Justin last week?"

"What the hell, Samantha!" a guy stood up in his defense.

"Shut up, Justin!" Samantha yelled back.

Lily's face turned several shades of red as the room fell silent, all eyes fixed on her. She hesitated for a moment, biting her lip nervously, before finally admitting in a hushed tone, "Yes, I did."

Gasps and whispers filled the room at this sudden revelation, and even I was surprised. That was because she looked so innocent; no one would have expected that from her. But the rest were surprised for a different reason.

The room fell into stunned silence as her handprint reddened on Justin's cheek. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stood up, wanting to run after her but not before shooting a glare at Samantha.

"F**k you," he yelled, pointing at Samantha, his voice filled with anger and frustration. He then shifted his gaze to Lily, who just sat there with her head lowered, too ashamed to look up.

Samantha sneered and gave a mocking laugh; she was enjoying every minute. Without the distraction gone she spun the bottle again, but this time it landed on Jake.

All eyes fell on him; he had been quiet the whole time since he got here.

"Truth or dare, Jake?"

Jake's eyes narrowed, before he finally spoke. "Truth,"

Samantha hearing this grinned wickedly. "Jake," she purred. "Do you have a sister?"

The room fell silent, and I could see Jake's knuckles turning white. He stared at Samantha with a mixture of anger and disbelief, clearly taken aback by the question.

"Yes," he replied, his jaw clenched while Samantha's grin only widened.

"Jake's got a sister? Who knew?" I heard the group murmur and so did Jake as his eyes flashed with anger but he didn't say anything.

Samatha's grin seemed to be growing wider but she didn't dwell in it for long as she spun the bottle once again, this time it landed on a guy named Mike.

As the game continued, I noticed how more people volunteered to drink from the cup rather than take the dares or reveal their truths.

Laughter and chatter filled the air, the once tense air became more relaxed. I watched as some folks started to feel tipsy from the drinks, making them less shy, and they laughed a lot louder.

However, this came to a sudden halt when Samantha spun the bottle, and it landed right in front of Jake. Again. All eyes were on him, and Samantha was enjoying it.

"Truth or dare?" she asked, with a raised brow.

"Dare," his response wasn't unexpected considering what had happened earlier. However, what Samantha said next caught everyone off guard.

"I dare you to kiss me."
