He pulled away from me, his lips leaving mine. I still had my eyes closed, my heart pounding loudly in my chest. I didn't want to open my eyes, I couldn't look at him.

"Piper," he whispered my name, and slowly my eyes flickered open to meet his brown eyes.

He took a step back, the warmth of his body now replaced by the cold air brushing my skin. "What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"What? The kiss?" he said with a raised brow.

"No," I shook my head, trying to gather my thoughts. "The part where you said I was your girlfriend. What do you mean?" Although I knew what he meant, a part of me didn't want a guy thinking he owned me and could control me, while the other part of me desperately wanted to kiss him again.
