Bone Quality

"Elder Fang, you are the most talented disciple and also the youngest Sword Elder, yet you are recklessly picking on disciples? This kid has absolutely no martial talent, I hope you don't exhaust the sect's resources on him."

Wang Ergou's expression was cold but he was happy in his heart because he felt that Fang An had taken in a disciple who had no future.

Wang Ergou had checked and found that Xiao Chen only had bones and an ordinary body structure so he didn't have any good martial talent.

If Xiao Chen thought back, Wang Ergou's words had also influenced his previous life's choice not to study martial arts and discovered too late that he was actually quite talented in swordsmanship.

"Vice-Chairman Wang's advice I will consider. If there is nothing else the Vice-Chairman wants to say then I'll take my leave since the two of us just had a long journey and haven't rested yet." Fang An smiled faintly, he naturally also realized that Xiao Chen did not have high talent in martial arts but Wang Ergou did not know that Xiao Chen was a smart kid.

Wang Ergou snorted softly before turning around and walking away, he chose to leave the scene earlier than Fang An and Xiao Chen.

Seeing Wang Ergou walk away, Fang An took a deep breath and patted Xiao Chen's head, "Chen'er, you shouldn't take those words to heart. Master make sure you will be able to learn martial arts without hindrance."

Xiao Chen nodded slowly, he showed that he was not bothered by Wang Ergou's words. Fang An smiled broadly at his attitude. The two of them then said goodbye to Yue Lian before Fang An brought Xiao Chen to their residence.

Fang An took Xiao Chen to the outskirts of the Valley of the Hundred Swords. Along the way, Fang An saw Xiao Chen enthusiastically observing the surroundings. Fang An did not know that Xiao Chen was deep in nostalgia.

Xiao Chen was trying hard to hold back his tears, this place could be said to be missed by him a lot.

After walking for some time, the two arrived at a quite large residence. At the gate Xiao Chen could see a large sign with the words Bamboo Sword Villa written on it.

"From now on this will be your residence…" Fang An then invited Xiao Chen to enter.

The Valley of the Hundred Swords had a hundred Villas like this which were each distributed among the Sword Elder. Even though Fang An was ranked in the top twenty within the Sword Elders but he chose Bamboo Sword Villa, the smallest villa among the hundred existing villas to be his residence.

Fang An's reasoning was simple, he didn't intend to have as many disciples as the other Sword Elders and also he would be outside the sect more often so Fang An had no intention of fighting over the residence with the other Sword Elders.

Not all the disciples and sect members lived in these hundred villas, but only the direct disciples of the Sword Elders and the rest had their own residences like a city.

Fang An gave Xiao Chen one of the largest rooms in Bamboo Sword Villa, "If you don't like this room, you can choose another room yourself." Fang An showed Xiao Chen around, showing him wells to fetch water, bathrooms, kitchens, study rooms and others before allowing Xiao Chen to rest.

Xiao Chen did feel exhausted, he cleaned up his room soberly before falling into a deep sleep until dinner time.

"Chen'er, before learning martial arts, you must master some basic knowledge, from tomorrow Master will guide you…" Fang An explained after the two had dinner.

Xiao Chen smiled awkwardly but didn't argue with Fang An, that night Xiao Chen didn't sleep but made plans ahead.

"I want to train my body quickly but Master won't allow me…" Xiao Chen hesitated and thought about what attitude and choice he would make going forward. Xiao Chen intended to become a gifted disciple in order for the sect to provide himself with sufficient resources to speed up his training process as well as give Fang An pride.

The problem was that Xiao Chen also realized that he couldn't directly practice using the Heavenly Dragon God's Scripture. If one wanted to store a large amount of internal energy in his body, then he had to train his body to become strong enough to store all of it.

In his previous life, Xiao Chen found this scroll at the age of 72, when he was already one of the high-ranking aces in the martial world. Xiao Chen's body back then allowed him to directly practice the Heavenly Dragon God's Scripture but it was different this time.

The first chapter of the Heavenly Dragon God's Scripture was the 'Dragon Bone Refining' which made Xiao Chen extremely shocked when he read it.

A person's martial talent was usually judged by the quality of his bones and body structure, warriors could usually improve the quality of their bones with some kinds of medicine and magic herbs, but obtaining them was not easy.

Most people improve the quality of their bones through tens of years of hard training, and even then it does little to improve the quality of a warrior's bones.

The 'Dragon Bone Refining' from the Heavenly Dragon God's Scripture was a technique that allowed one to increase the quality of one's bones quickly without the use of medicine or magical herbs. According to the Scripture, a warrior's bones were divided into several categories namely Wolf Bones, Tiger Bones and Dragon Bones.

The Wolf Bones were divided into three namely the weakest the Yellow Wolf Bones then the Black Wolf Bones and finally the Wind Wolf Bones. Tiger Bones are also divided into three, namely Young Tiger Bones, Wild Tiger Bones and Iron Tiger Bones.

The Dragon Bones are divided into four namely the Young Dragon Bones, the Earth Dragon Bones, the Sky Dragon Bones and the most powerful is the Dragon God Bones.

Xiao Chen's previous life possessed the quality of the Wind Wolf Bone and after practicing for some time he attained the Iron Tiger Bone. Xiao Chen thought it would take a long time to reach the Dragon Bone, so he continued on to the second part of the Scripture without completing the first stage.

"This time I have enough time, so I won't rush it. I will definitely reach the Dragon God Bone." Xiao Chen was determined.

Xiao Chen then checked the quality of his current bones using that method, he could only smile bitterly when he found out the quality of the bones he possessed were those of the Yellow Wolf Bones, the lowest quality bones a warrior could possess.

"My journey looks like it will be quite long…" Xiao Chen chuckled.
